24-hour layover

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Their rooms. You never know what you'll get, but they're all different and all comfortable.
Cons: Can we go back to the soaps rather than liquids in the shower?
Location: Eat, drink, and shop! This is in the Olde Port and they've got a lot of great bars and restaurants.
We've stayed here a lot over the past twenty some odd years and it's a very comfortable hotel. This corner room only had windows on one side, up high, but you can open them which is great today in locked down hotels. The bath a wee bit small, the shower was, but it was hot and had plenty of pressure. By in large, the Regency is a quiet hotel in a noisy city. You can pre-order a complimentary pot of coffee outside your door for 730 and of course they have room service. And a pretty good hotel bar downstairs. Great beds, good staff, and good prices pop up throughout the year.

Great Place and great location for Old town

Posted Dec 24, 2014
Pros: Location, quietness, people and the rooms work well for us
We have stayed here several times and it always works out very well. It is an old armory so some if it is a bit quirky, but the people, the over all feel for the place and the location more than make up for it. This is especially true if you are looking for a quiet location near the old part of the city and all of its eateries and stores, or want to be near the water front.

An historical gem

Posted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: It has historic charm. It is within a very walkable neighbourhood. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms are outstanding.
Cons: A self-park option in the neighbourhood would be a welcome addition, as would a few more items added to the lounge menu.
Location: Explore old Portland within walking distance from here.
Outstanding service and exceptional charm await you in this hotel in one of the historic areas of the city. The staff are welcoming and professional. The room was an oasis.
