Our stay at Ramada Plaza in Portland

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: Room was clean, enjoyed the fact that you could open a glass slider door with small balcony to let fresh air in.
Cons: More trained, professional staff is greatly needed at this hotel. Would have enjoyed chairs on balcony so we could have sat outside.
Location: No continental breakfast, restaurant near for breakfast. Not many restaurants near by for lunch or dinner.
When we arrived to check-in, we were greeted by a very unprofessional staff. Two of the check-in desk employees were so involved discussing an issue behind the desk in front of the guests, no one greeted us. Finally an inexperienced employee checked us in. When we asked directions to our room, she pointed and said, "it's over there somewhere." We wandered around trying to find the elevators, other quest were also looking around trying to find the elevators and room. Our room was clean, but the toilet was hard to stop running. We did not contact guest services because of our experience checking in.

Nice, clean quiet place

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: Transportation available
Cons: It looks a little old and is a tad expensive.
Location: Near a grocery store and fast foods. It's a busy road to cross though so eating at the hotel is probably a good idea.
Very nice place, clean, quiet, friendly staff, large room. It had a nice pool and work out room. Great restaurant attached with excellent menu. Only thing negative is the hotel looks a bit old. Appreciated the ride pick up at the port, and to the airport the next day.

Decent hotel for a quick sleep.

Not a bad place but toilet was slightly dirty and kind of clogged (gross). Gym was very outdated. Staff was nice and the bed was comfy. Overall decent

Nice hotel close to tourist sites

Good resteraunts available on the low end of pricey. Worth the money. Nice pool and hot tubs. Only caution ... Don't get a cot. We stayed 2 nights and my son opted to sleep on the floor rather than the wiry cot option on the second night.

Convenient location right off the highway.

Posted Jun 27, 2015
We didn't expect much for the $85/night price tag but the hotel exceeded our expectations. It was very easy to get to and right off a major highway. It was a quick drive to downtown Portland and the waterfront and Allagash Brewery was right down the road. We had a single queen with a fridge and microwave. We were traveling with a baby and the hotel provided a clean crib. Each room had a balcony which was nice but the traffic outside was a little loud. We ran the AC unit overnight as white noise for the baby and had no issues. Housekeeping was prompt and friendly and each day replaced the crackers and bottled water that was provided in our room. We did use the pool which was quiet and clean, and ordered take-out from Seasons. The only thing that would have made this hotel perfect would have been more breakfast options. The attached breakfast restaurant was very pricey and we chose not to go.
