PDX Weekend EscapePosted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Ambiance, staff, location
Cons: Main level bathroom was trashed on Sunday morning.... early morning clean-up may be a good idea.
Traveled to PDX this weekend with friends to enjoy the city and a couple of evenings out on the town. Had a great trip and the staff at River's Edge was great to work with! Our friends traveled with their two dogs and the hotel was very accommodating and had a great recommendation for a Doggy Day Care place that was close to the hotel. Our room was clean & very quiet & quite spacious. We've stayed here before... and we'll continue to enjoy this hotel on future trips to PDX.

Remote LocationPosted Jul 17, 2015
Pros: Being able to use their bicycles.
Cons: Room lighting. Staff training.
Not located near anything. Free Hotel shuttle rarely available. Front Desk staff not particularly friendly or helpful. Bathroom not restocked with supplies. Lighting in the room was very poor; couldn't even see what was in the closet. Appreciated being able to use their bicycles. Room rate was high, considering the experience.

Overall highly recommended. Very nice location for families. Not in busy downtown area. Right on walking trail by the river. Free good coffee in lobby at all times. Free parking with hybrid car. Great gym.

Beautiful location. Staff were very competent and friendly. The setting of the restaurant is on the river and is very peaceful. I would stay there again.

Lovely hotel on the RiverPosted Jul 10, 2015
Loved our stay here. Room was cozy and comfortable. Beds had super soft linens and pillows. Requested extra pillows ahead of time online and they were in our room upon arrival. The prenatal massage for myself and deep tissue massage for my husband at the spa were the best massages we have ever had! Had breakfast in bed and lunch at the restaurant and both were excellent. Overall a very relaxing trip!

Exceptional StayPosted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Excellent Room Service Menu and food. 5 Star! Their appetizer (cheese platter and prawn dish) were as if I were eatng at a 5 star restaurant.
Cons: Balcony porch and table chairs very dirty. They should make this part of their cleaning when they clean the room!
Location: Waterfront is wonderful. They provide bikes to use and we were able to bike to waterfront and enjoy all the sites.
Location was wondeful. We used their bikes to roll the waterfront and downtown. Great way to move around and really see Portland. The food and enviornment was outstanding. Not too far from alll the good things Portland has to offer!

Horrible, use your money to stay at a nice hotel!Posted Jul 2, 2015
The hotel is ridiculously expensive, so you'd expect to get something in return for your money. Wrong! We arrived at 4pm for check-in and the room hadn't even been cleaned. The staff didn't apologize or anything, just told us to stay in the lobby. When we finally did get in the room (oh hey, it was supposed to be a deluxe suite), it was plain disappointment. I've never seen carpets with more stains on it, and the room was just old, dirty, and looked like it was last renovated in the 60s. We had booked a suite so that our baby would have enough room to crawl around, but we would not let her get onto those floors. The balcony was rather big, and would probably have been nice, had the staff put the cushions on the patio chairs. However, judging from the ones I saw on the neighbors' patios were full of stains (or mold, I couldn't quite tell), it was probably better not to get them at all. Also, be aware, there is a popular place next door - and during the 2 nights we spent there, there were about 10 bachelorette parties that involved a lot of noise outside our room and made it hard to sleep.

Peaceful Waterfront SettingPosted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Spa facilities
Cons: Pet and parking fees
Location: Portlands new south waterfront area is happening!
Great bikes to use! Delicious restaurant next door. Lovely spa. Nice to be out of the chaos of downtown. Walk the waterfront. Negatives: $50 for a pet...but hey, you get to have your dog at least! Only $25 valet parking option unless you want to walk a mile up hill.
