“A very good value”
Shilo Inns are upscale middle class motels. I give it max stars for the clientele who want good value at a reasonable price.
“Ok”
This hotel will do if your trying to find a cheep hotel. Its quiet and clean and semi comfortable. So for a cheep option, this isnt bad.
“dirty and old”
pillows very old and worn tv didn't work finally got fixed shower broken couldn't even get shampoo out of my hair didn't expect it to be real fancy because of the low price but did expect it to be clean comfortable
“It was just okay”
Service was great, the spa was filthy, I loved the coffee in the room and the continental breakfast. I didn't sleep very well due to a mattress that was hard as a rock but not your fault. I like staying at Radissons because of their sleep number beds that you can adjust to soft or firm. They told us about new ownership for the hotel so when your improvements are done I'm sure it will be even better. I guess I'm spoiled and I usually stay and higher class hotels. It was still okay though and it was very convenient for my relatives since they live nearby.
“Shilo- Not what they used to be”
I have stayed in Shilo inns often over the years and it is sad to see how they have been allowed to run down. This hotel room was the most uncomfortable I have ever stayed in. The bed was crappy, and the mini fridge was so ridiculously loud i actually had to get up in the middle of the night and unplug it. I will say the staff were friendly and the motel clean but it was a dingy old motel room and the tv was only like a crappy 17 inch tv that only had a few channels. I would not stay at this shilo ever again. I hope the others have not fallen off this much.
“Easy, clean and cheap!”
I only stayed there one night, and didn't use any of the ameneties (pool, laundry, etc) but I found this to be a great place to stay. The room was clean, quiet and updated; there was a small fridge and microwave which were a nice surpise. My only complaint was the mattress on the bed ws too firm for my taste, but it was in good shape. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I will most definitely go back again.
“Very nice hotel”
Needed a hotel for a business trip and settled on this one. It was a nice hotel and I will use it again if I need to return to Portland.
“Cheap but did the job”
I needed to be close to a specific location and this hotel was in my budget. I did not feel that it was a Shilo Inn quality hotel like I had stayed at before but it was in my price range. The breakfast is very simplistic. Danish, coffee....maybe yogurt. The spa was not working. Again, I was on a budget so it worked for me, just don't expect a lot.
“Cheap, but not of Shilo Inn quality.”
The ice machine on our floor did not work so I went down to the first floor and it did not work either. When I asked the clerk, she directed me to the second floor which did not even have an ice machine. Our original room smelled of cigarette smoke so we had to get a new room. The room only had two towels and when we went to the hot tub, they did not have any towels so we had to use our room towels which didn't matter because we could not figure out how to turn on the hot tub or the sauna anyway. The room had little in the way of amenities. The continental breakfast was very limited. Danish, cereal, bagel (without cream cheese), and yogurt. The second day breakfast seemed to only have the left overs from the previous morning. This was a VERY CHEAP appearing room and not of Shilo Inn "affordable excellence" quality. It is very close to the 217 & I-5 highways so that is convienent.
“Nothing special, but the price was right.”
It's definitely not the nicest hotel in the world, but honestly you get what you pay for here. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. Its probably the cheapest hotel in the Portland metro area so if you don't mind being near Washington square its a perfect place to stay. Its close to 217, but not so close that you actually hear it. The only complaint I had about the hotel is the lighting outside was nearly non-existent. So when it was dark there wasn't adequate lighting for the entire parking lot. Otherwise its a decent place to stay.
