Nice Downtown Base Camp

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Quaint place to stay with great location, especially if you visit Portland just to eat your way through the city as we do. It's all about the food. The Heathman Restaurant is very good! The room was small but adequate, bed extremely comfy.

Great hotel in center of downtown

Posted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, staff.
Cons: Magically make the rooms a little larger.
Location: The Heathman is right next to the performing arts center, two blocks from the art museum, three blocks from the main library, etc...
The Heathman is a classic hotel, great character. Rooms on the small side, but clean and well cared for. Staff unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The bar has great appetizers and desserts!

Came to Portland for a girls shopping weekend.

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Cons: Hair dryers
The staff was very helpful in giving us directions to go to where we needed to go. Very cheerful and accommodating. The room was great, surprised there was no hair dryer.. But none the less we had a great stay.

Was not aware The Heathman had been bought out. Though the staff is remarkably attentive, the "updates" in the guest rooms are, sadly, tacky and cheap. The essence of The Heathman gone.

Very nice hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the heathman. The Internet was a little slow and we didn't really have anywhere to put our room service. However, hotel staff was very kind. Our room service order came in 20 minutes instead of the quoted 40. The bed was so comfortable. We would gladly stay again. Also very centrally located with easy access to voodoo!

Extreme parking rates

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Pros: Bed were very comfy hotel nice and clean staff great
Cons: Parking Is robbery. Coming from Canada the rate was 39.00 us so we paid about 55.00 plus to park.
Location: Great location.
Hotel was fantastic. I think because we booked through Expedia we were put as far away as possible. We were at the very end of the hotel. We asked if they were full and they said no so I can only guess that was the reason. ????

Not worth the money!

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: Decent location
Cons: Needs more polite staff, rooms should be cleaner
I think this hotel is a lot more expensive then it should be, you're better off staying somewhere else. The check in person was very rude and so we decided to talk to someone else and that person was just as rude. As we were checking out and waiting for a taxi, I heard someone checking in and they were asked which type of mattress they would have liked and also if they'd like a map of Portland. We were asked neither of those things even though we spoke to two different people. The room was also really dusty and there was so much random hair all over the bathroom. We had two windows and one faced a wall and the other looked into other rooms. Also we were near the elevators and you can hear people yelling to each other and also the elevator dinging all night. The guys that work the front doors were nice and helpful for directions and restaurant recommendations.

Nice downtown hotel...

Posted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: It is not a giant hotel chain where all is cookie cutter, it has a distinct high end flavor.
Cons: Parking price is a pressure point , but not much different than other surrounding hotels.
Heathman is a wonderful choice for a short stay in Portland, close to everything and very hip. It may not be the most comfortable for longer than few days of stay, rooms are on the smaller side, but the beds are exceptionally comfortable.

Mattress from heaven.

We went out for a Divorce party for a friend, but my boyfriend and I could not stop talking about the matteress at the hotel! It was the best bed we have ever slept on. We even pulled all the sheets off and took a picture of the name of the matteress to get one at home. Yes it was that good!!!!! Everything else about the hotel is great but by god that bed, made a mouth breather and a snorer sleep like baby Jesus in a manger!
