Excellent guest services...the staff gets it!

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Nice room; fantastic staff well-trained in guest services.
Location: Near shopping and within a 10 minute walk of good restaurants. Clyde Common was a fantastic restaurant, and Deschutes was a fun place to have a cold
Originally placed into a room that adjoined the exercise room open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. First morning of vacation, a runner disturbed our sleep. We mentioned this to concierge Luis, and while we were out exploring he had all of our luggage moved to an upper floor, with a note apologizing for the inconvenience attached to a nice bottle of wine. Also, valet service was excellent. The car was always in place within the 5-10 minutes from the call as they promised, with doors opened and a pleasant attitude. Great stay all the way around. All front desk staff were most helpful and cordial, providing directions and recommendations when asked.

Extremely nice and great customer service.

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: Very clean, super nice accommodations, friendly staff throughout. Exceptional customer service.
Cons: We laughed at how over the top/high the prices for the in-room bar and basket offerings were, so we didn't use any of them. Better downstairs!
Location: Historic Portland, OR: much to see and maps available/offered. Very nice.
Right next door to Arlene Schnitzer concert hall. Very accommodating. Always asking what they might do to enhance our stay...hotel and eateries. Remembered our names!!! and our preferences!!!

Very nice hotel, well located.

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: Staff was particularly helpful and very friendly.
Cons: Do not book a room close to the fitness center - it opens at 5 am, and is busy and loud.
Location: Great access to major highways, downtown restaurants and shopping.
My wife and I were looking for a downtown Portland hotel to stay for 3 nights while we visited relatives in Vancouver, WA. We found the Heathman on Expedia and it looked like it fit our location requirements and budget. We booked it, although I was both surprised and somewhat concerned when the booking indicated that the hotel charged the three nights in full and the rate was non-refundable and not cancellable. Red flags went up, but it was now too late to make a change. The hotel turned out to be great. Service, rooms and amenities were first rate. It has a particularly good conference center. Staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Old charm and clean, comfortable room.

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Old charm. Lobby was very comfortable and drink service was excellent.
Cons: Shower control valve was broken.
Location: One block away from the Portland Art Museum.
Live piano and a singer in the Lobby was unexpected in late afternoon. Drink was provided by a very pleasant staff.

Great downtown choice.

Cons: Restaurant. Caesar salad:dressing didn't have the Caesar-flavor. No Worchestershire sauce flavor; no coddled eggs? Eggs Benedict: too much sauce.
Location: Museum.
Quiet room; very comfortable bed. Wonderful staff.

I had a quick trip in and out of town, but the Heathman Hotel was a comfortable stay in a great location from many popular sites. It was a good visit.

We didn't spend a lot of time at our hotel and didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff, but the experiences we did have with them were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, although there was no soap in the bathroom, which was a quick and easy fix. The only thing I wish was that there was a refrigerator for food/drinks we brought back. There was only a tiny mini bar fridge that still didn't fit anything in it once the contents were removed. All in all a great time.

Quiet, comfortable, convenient

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Quiet room with very comfortable bed, very clean; staff were great. Very centrally located to the convention I was attending.
Cons: Bathroom was pretty small, needs counter space.
Loved Portland - was able to see a lovely art collection at the Museum downtown as well as enjoy the shopping. Enjoyed walking to Powells Books and VooDoo Doughnuts and the foodcarts. Also liked the brew pubs!
