Pros: Perfect location - easy access to shopping, great restaurants and bars. Nice, comfortable room.
Cons: The shower had some mold - other than that, the room felt clean.
We stayed for three nights at the Paramount while visiting our old neighborhood. We had a very comfortable stay overall and would stay here again.

Good location, a bit noisy

Posted Jan 17, 2015
Pros: Location, room was spacious and nicely decorated.
Cons: Better sound treatment
Lovely room, great staff, noisy. The garbage trucks at 4 am, pressure washers at 6 am. Construction started at 7. Very little sleep. Windows faced the square across the street.

I was impressed by how seamless the check-in and check-out went. The room was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and quiet.

Well appointed Hotel in downtown

Posted Jan 13, 2015
Pros: Location.
Easy to find and centrally located The Paramount was a great base for our exploring of Portland. Plenty of reasonably priced eateries close by. Good view from the room, a little noisey with all the construction taking place nearby but at least they dont start too early! Plus you need to expect that in the city! Overall recommended.

Came up from the Bay Area to do a portland pub crawl weekend. Hotel is in a really safe area and pretty much centrally located. Hotel has a nice restaurant on one side of the lobby and a whiskey/moonshine bar on the other side. Beds are really comfortable and room was very clean. The staff here take pride in their work and it shows with their hospitality and the overall condition of the hotel. I will defiantly stay here again

Facility + Amenities = Value In My Eyes

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: Beautiful lobby; Friendly valets, front desk staff & housekeeping; Clean & spacious room, Eco-friendly bathroom supplies
Cons: Complimentary breakfast, as well as ice and snack vending on every floor.
Location: We enjoyed Zoolights that night. There are tons of other things to do in the downtown area, just a short walk to Pioneer Courthouse Square.
We'd not chosen valet parking; but the young attendant politely opened the door for us anyway; and we were quite impressed with the lobby of the Paramount ~ all shiny and bustling, with small tavern-looking facilities located on both the right and left as we walked through the front doors. Front desk staff were professional, efficient and pleasant. The room was immaculately clean and appointed with eco-friendly pump bottles of bath needs in the shower. Reasonably interesting view from 12th floor. The disappointments come in with the inconvenient location of snacks and ice on odd floors, and with the lack of a complimentary breakfast. While I do not travel more than 4 to 6 times per year; I worked in the marketing department for Embassy Suites for six plus years; I have a pretty good eye and sense for value when it comes to hospitality and overnight accommodations. I suppose my disappointment could have been avoided, had I simply looked into whether or not a breakfast was included. The fact is, over the past fifteen years, I cannot remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that did not offer at least coffee and a danish. Breakfast downstairs begins with a $9 bowl of oatmeal? NO! No breakfast, combined with the aforementioned lack of convenient snack vending location, makes the Paramount a NO for me in the future. Hungry people are not happy people, folks. And you can feed them well on a shoestring budget...Just sayin'
