“Great Maine Vacation Spot”

We recently stayed two nights at the Village Cove. It is a really quaint hotel off the beaten path in Kennebunkport. While not located in the main part of town, it's only a short walk, and as a result is in a very quiet area. The grounds were nice, and the hotel had some nice updates - great bed / bedding, sitting area, and kitchenette (fridge / microwave). The staff was SUPER friendly and very helpful. We were very happy with our stay here, and Kennebunkport was a great choice for vacationing on the Maine coast. Great place to bike around!

“Nice, quiet location. Rooms were well appointed”

Staff friendly and well informed regarding restaurants and places to visit. Breakfast in restaurant was great. Hotel overlooks a quiet cove that has extremely low and high tide so is interesting to watch changes.

“Good location, but thin walls.”

POSITIVES: Walking distance to town, beautiful surroundings, large room, quaint porch, good continental breakfast, enjoyed indoor pool. Good for price. NEGATIVES: Thin walls, commercial drop ceiling. Kinda felt like a modular building. Heard more than I'd like to in the room next door.

“Comfortable but not luxurious.”

We weren't sure what to expect from the Village Cove Inn. We have stayed in Kennebunkport and Ogunquit a number of times and have a pretty good idea of what one gets for the money. While the room was a bit older and mustier than what we expected...overall, it was clean and comfortable and the grounds were quite scenic. There are not many places that have a large deck overlooking a pool and saltwater inlet where you can sit under the stars and enjoy an evening Scotch. The restaurant was first rate and right on site, which we found very convenient. After a full day of sightseeing/golfing/etc, we were very happy not having to drive somewhere for dinner and drinks. The staff was pleasant and helpful and despite the rustic atmosphere, the Village Cove Inn felt a lot like being at someones very large and comfortable home.

“Off the Beaten Path in Kennebunkport”

We arrived at the Village Cove Inn after 8 PM and were surprised to find the office closed, but with a packet waiting for us on the counter. With only one other guest for the night, it was a quiet stay. The room was large and very comfortable, and had obviously been recently renovated. We would stay there again if we return to Kennebunkport.

Great set up, nice area and close to town. Food at poolside pub was excellent and what a great patio to eat on.

“A bit older, no frills, but solid”

My wife and I stayed at the Village Cove Inn at the end of July 2008. On arrival, the place looked a bit dated, and the restaurants a bit empty. But the outdoor pool overlooking the cove was reasonable and it was well maintained, except for the toilet being a bit "loose" on the ground (wiggled a but). The bed was comfortable, and once getting past the idea of a sliding glass door as the main entrance for the room, everything else was good. Easily walkable for younger people to town (a bit hilly for the older crowd) and a quiet area just outside of the town. Overall, well worth the price, as it is less costly than many other places nearby. A good choice for those with families on a budget or those who don't want a B+B experience.
