We booked this Hotel as it had family rooms for 4 - double and 2 singles. The room was very modern and very clean with kettle, robes etc. The breakfast was the best ever with first class service. Nothing was too much trouble with very helpful staff esp at breakfast. 2 minute walk to the metro station but also very handy for walking to main attractions. Also went to the restaurant underneath the Hotel called La Rune which we would recommend again with very helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

We went on a cruise with MSC and we stayed in Genoa for a few days before our cruise. The location of the hotel is excellent! It is right accross the Genoa Aquarium. You are just a few minutes by foot from the San Lorenzo cathedral. Most of the sites are actually just a few minutes away by foot. We stayed in a family room which my three adult children and I shared. Not the biggest room but big enough for 4 separate beds/bunks . Bathroom is new and very clean. Overall, we liked the hotel, loved Genoa and will definitely stay there again. Great value for money.

Traveled with our 3 year old, kids got to stay in bunk beds and were treated like special little citizens. Perfect location, you can walk to all the highlights within minutes. Staff is so warm and were diligent about everything. Best bed of our vacation.

The hotel was very conveniently located. All sight-seeing spots and shopping were within walking distance.
We had three rooms. Mine was for two persons. It was big with high ceiling, very nicely furnished and decorated. My two daughters each paid $100 more to have four-person rooms. They were just huge and classy! Both were beautiful. One even had a Jacuzzi bath tub.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready. They stored the luggage for us so that we could go sight-seeing. By the time we returned, our bags were already in our rooms. Since we had to leave before the hotel restaurant opens in the morning, the front desk packed for each of us a breakfast to go.
This hotel is better than many other high-priced hotels I have stayed in!

My sister and I stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Helvetia in Genoa in the beginning of September 2013. The room was quite large and very clean. The wireless internet connection worked fairly well.
The friendly staff directed us to a parking spot for our car that was very close and easy to get to. We were able to pull right up front of the hotel to drop our luggage off first. The staff also provided a map of the area with suggestions on where to eat and sites to see. They were very attentive and helpful.
The hotel location is fantastic. Our room looked out over busy Piazza Della Nunziata but when you closed the window, it was still quite quiet. There are so many shops and restaurants nearby. A seven-stop commuter funicular begins at the Piazza and it is worth the trip up to see the view of Genoa.
The hotel is situated amongst some very impressive landmarks and the architecture is gorgeous. We had decided to stay in Genoa so we could visit Cinque Terre but then we were sorry that we did not dedicate more time to exploring this really interesting and beautiful city. The Hotel Helvetia is a very good location to explore the city from. It is also very close to the train station.
We really enjoyed the hotel and would highly recommend it. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
