An all-round excellent hotel experience - more like 4 stars than 3! Our room (410 on the front of the building) was spacious, well laid out, very comfortable and clean, with a well-equipped, perfectly maintained and spotless bathroom, and effective sound insulation. The balcony was not designed as somewhere to linger, but that didn't matter in November - although it was useful for checking the weather and the view over the square. (The floor above seemed to have larger terraces for its front-facing rooms.)
We were welcomed by a very friendly and knowledgeable receptionist (Eduardo?).
The lifts (capacity 4) did seem rather small, but there are 2 and we were never kept waiting.
The quality, range and variety of items available for breakfast were very satisfactory, with a small number of efficient staff servicing the breakfast area miraculously well.
Having explored many areas of Porto during our 4-day stay, we realised this hotel enjoyed the most convenient location in town, with a variety of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and tourist sights very nearby, as well as every form of transport practically on the doorstep!
