Pros: so small
Room was very small, and staff were indifferent. It was cheap, and clean, and served its purpose, but I would hate having to stay there for more than one night.

Great hotel, excellent location, good pricePosted Jan 3, 2013
A great and beautiful hotel. It is featured in the Wallpaper guide, so it was a safe bet for me. It is overall very good. The rooms may be a bit small for two, but it's pretty much what you get in old European hotels everywhere, so no surprise. Pretty clean and comfortable. Bathroom is nice. Price is awesome since the hotel is in the best location, right in the city center with metro station within a 3-minute walk. Internet works in all hotel, and it's quite fast. However I was in a room in a corner of the hotel and the wi-fi was weak in the bed area, so i had to get close to the corridor to have a better connection. A great hotel anyway!! Would go back for sure!!!

A Great place to StayPosted Dec 19, 2012
An excellently located hotel in the heart of Porto in a principal pedestrian street. Vale for money was first class. I would not waver from recommending this hotel which has a restaurant although our visit was b&b.
Excellent LocationPosted Oct 26, 2012 on Hotels.com
Hotel room was quite fine, had a bathtub which is unusual in many old hotels, lovely old world charm and great location in the heart of Santa Catarina street,. This is in the historical district, so was easy to either walk or catch the hop-on-and-off sightseeing buses. Only complaint was the less than friendly restaurant service. Happily, only ate breakfast there...but they might have had a dinner reservation from me if they were more welcoming. Front-desk service was fine, however.

Beautiful surroundings, average rooms - worth it!Posted Oct 23, 2012
The rooms are average, but what really makes this hotel great is the amazing communal spaces - the bar is beautiful and historical in style, with amazing value drinks. The restaurant where you have breakfast is also palatial. The location of the hotel is ideal, right in the centre. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Grand old hotel in a great neighborhood, near a couple of terrific restaurants where the locals go to eat well.

Central hotel on the main shopping streetPosted Sep 29, 2012 on Hotels.com
Hotel is central, close to most things and on the primary shopping street (clothes, fashion shops etc) so as expected with a well known hotel like this, you can't really go wrong

Fabuloso in OportoPosted Sep 5, 2012
excellent value for money; staff extremely helpful and friendly; decor fabulous; rooms quite basic but more than adequate and breakfast very good. Far exceeded the three stars it was given. Parking not easy but they did all they could to be helpful. It made the Oporto experience very pleasant indeed.
