Historic Hotel in great location

Posted Jul 26, 2015
The hotel was in a fantastic location - close to everything with train station nearby. Upon entering the hotels bar, lounge and dining room we found all were exquisitely furnished and decorated. However our room was extremely disappointing. The size of the room was so tiny you could not even walk around the small double bed. It was difficult just to enter the room thought the tiny passage way and doorway with any luggage. The decor and furnishing was extremely dark and the bed was extremely uncomfortable- sagged and has lumps in it. This room though was advertised as a double room is really only suited for 1 person. Breakfast was included in the price and was reasonable. Overall our stay was enjoyed because of the location of the hotel and price was reasonable but room was not comfortable and definitely not for two people.

Old world grandeur, but a little faded

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Breakfast. Lounges were furnished with plush sofas and a pleasant place to relax.
Conveniently located on the main shopping street and a 20 minute walk from the riverfront. The hotel has the character of a Victorian manor but our room at least was on the small side and located next to the restaurant so a little noisy in the evening. Breakfast was a substantial buffet and for the price the hotel was reasonable.

普通でした。

Posted Jul 15, 2015

Zentraler Hotelkomfort

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: das Entree
Cons: Zum Frühstück wäre Gemüse (Paprika, Tomaten) wünschenswert
Location: jede Sehenswürdigkeit in Walking Distance

Extremely small room

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Cons: The room size should be improved. It simply does not match the name of the hotel and not even the average standard of many other hotels.
Location: Without luggage, it is not far away from major tourist attractions and is considered to be a convenient location.
Only stay there one night. The room is extremely small and the double bed is not comfortable. Despite it is not a long walking distance from the main railway station, to some people, it may be hard to walk uphill with luggage. Breakfast was just average.

Old hotel past its prime. Public rooms excellent.

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: In the centre of town.
Cons: Independent travellers should be as well treated as group travellers, not given the poorest accommodation. Floor below us was well decorated.
Location: Shopping street, market near by and famous coffee house. Easy walking distance to some of the main sights and not far from railway station.
Shown to a room which was dark and gloomy because main colours were brown and black. On exiting the lift decor reflected that of an institution rather than a hotel. Dark brown carpet with dark brown painted walls bottom half ,cream top half. Considering the price we were paying did not match up to expectations. Staff on check in were most unhelpful- bar one who was on holiday for the rest of our stay. In fact the staff on the desk need some customer service training as their manner was most unhelpful ,dismissive and infact quite bad mannered. Bar and restaurant staff were very good. Food also good in lovely surroundings. As stated before public rooms reflected past glory.

So-so in Porto

Posted Jun 2, 2015
Pros: Location and nice breakfast.
Cons: The internet connection was poor and the room to our door was difficult to lock.
Location: Close to all major Porto attractions.
This hotel is well located in the city's main shopping district and within easy walking distance of Porto's main attractions. Some of the reception staff were great and others were a bit surly. The room was very small and the internet connection didn't always work, forcing me to log-on from the lobby, which is beautiful by the way and offers bar service. Parking is bad, costing 9 Euro daily and requiring a drive down a very busy street that is for pedestrians only (except cars accessing the hotel's garage). Good breakfast in very nice dining room. The lock to our room didn't always work and we had to be careful to ensure we finally got it to lock.

Bem Localizado

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Localização
Bom e bonito Hotel, ótima localização, porém, o quarto que me foi designado era muito pequeno.
