Central location from which to explore OportoPosted Jul 20, 2014
Great hotel with lovely facade and imaginative decoration in the communal areas. Plain, simply decorated bedrooms but comfortable, good size. Views over town may not all be brilliant but we were out walking around exploring this lovely place, which is in need if some TLC, and sampling what it has too offer.

Central locationPosted May 23, 2014
Pros: Really good location right in the centre.
Cons: Just the bed ! Extra firm so found it uncomfortable.
Location: The Majestic tea rooms in the same road very good. Close to the teams and the hop on hop off tour bus. Shopping area right there. Theatres very close.
Really good central location, grandiose ground floor rooms very 1920's glamour . Bedrooms clean and compact bathroom clean with bath/ shower etc. mini fridge and safe. Would have given it excellent but found the bed a bit too firm for me.

City Centre EscapePosted May 19, 2014
Pros: Staff were great and food and drinks were good value and well presented
Cons: Don't use your economy rooms for couples
Location: Virtually opposite Majetsics cafe if that is your thing and easy access to main shopping area. Short drop down to the river.
We loved the hotel for everything except the size of the room. We booked a room not realising an economy room meant that it was the size of the room that was economised not the services available. I would willingly have swapped the fridge for a larger room. Still everything else was fine - it was lovely and quiet and riught in the heart of Porto. Would stay again but not in an economy room (unless I was travelling alone - it was not big enough for two).

Great city centre locationPosted May 12, 2014
Pros: The ground floor is fully of history & architectural features.
Cons: Rooms, while comfortable, very stark and boring with minimal furnishings.
Very good restaurant. Most things are within walking distance. Metro to the airport only a few mins away.

Good location, short walk to riverPosted Apr 20, 2014
Hotel in good location, amongst a number of different shops in a pedestrianised street about a 20min walk from river. Our room was very small, just enough space for a double bed, but overall the hotel was clean with a good buffet breakfast and reception staff were very friendly.

Great location and servicePosted Jan 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
The staff was wonderful! Offered great suggestion for restaurants and tours. The location was within walking distance to everything we wanted: shopping, dining, monuments and tour bus stops. The hotel itself is beautiful, with modern and clean rooms. Wifi was free, but had spotty reception in our room. Continental breakfast offered a good selection and was average quality. Overall great place and definitely recommend it, especially for the price!

Great location for town centre, and in busy mainly pedestrian street. Easily missed the doorway is amongst a number of shop windows and adjacent doorways. The entrance is grand as is the whole of the ground floor, through palatial corridors and lovely snug bar and attractive dining area. Excellent service throughout. Our room on the third floor however was small and comparatively very bare. Perfectly ok if you do not wish to spend time in the room - and more expensive rooms might be much better. Staff were helpful and pleasant.

Beautiful hotel in great locationPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: The beautiful downstairs rooms, the helpful staff and the excellent location. It was extremely quiet despite being on a busy road.
Cons: The rooms were rather small and could have had a little more decoration and fewer mirrors!! You shouldn't have to pay for the safe and Wifi.
Location: Central location not far from the city sightseeing attractions.A few minutes from the Metro, close toTourist Information and coach and train stations
Spent 4 days here with 2 friends in single rooms and was very satisfied. The reception rooms were beautiful, the staff very helpful and the location was excellent. Would come back without hesitation.
