“Great Hotel”
The receptionist who attended to our check-in recommended some tours and arranged the bookings. All we had to do was be there at the appointed time. She is a credit to the hotel. All the staff tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. When I return to Porto I will stay at the Dom Henrique.
“Excellent value for money, we will go back for sure”
My wife and I enjoyed very much our stay in this hotel. The rooms are not very large, but very clean and quiet, the ones aiming the back side of the hotel. The hotel is located in the business area, at about 15 minutes walking time to the down town. The hotel personnel speaks reasonably English, is very kind and amiable and will go a long way to help the guest. The breakfast bar is absolutely fabulous, with all kind of fruits, cereals, fresh (crispy) rolls, ham, cheese, etc. We enjoyed tremendously the coffee machines where you can drink all kind of lattes, cappuccino, espresso, etc. The neighborhood is quiet and there are plenty of restaurants where you can have a delicious dinner.
“Very nice”
Very nice hotel close to Rua Augusta and all main touristic points. Big bright and clean rooms. value for money-excelent!
“Covered all the basics”
From the list of average priced hotels to choose for our stay in Porto, Dom Henrique covered all the essentials. As expected, the room wasn't elabrate, but is was simple and clean. The same for the rest of the hotel. I only wished the hotel was closer to the river - 20min walk. The front desk offers day trips made easy with hotel pick up/drop off. The 17th floor bar was enjoyed after a day of walking - nice views. We enjoyed our stay in Porto and Dom Henrique is a safe bet choice in a hotel.
“Very close to City center do not hesitate staying”
staying at this hotel is OK, Very close to City center do not hesitate staying
“Very well located”
It is 2 blocks from the Santa Catarina comercial Street, 3 minutes walking from the main street and about 15 minutes to the Casa de Bolsa, and 10 munutes on taxi to Vila Nova de Gaia, Located across Porto's renowned suspension bridge, where all the Porto Bodegas are located.
“A Fine Stay Near the Center of Town”
Everything went as expected in the hotel -- I would recommend it to others.
“Very close to city center and attractions”
The room was a bit smaller than expected. Staff very freindly. Close to most of the city attractions and shopping centers. The room is missing Iron and Iron board, so you need to ask for them every time you need ironing work.
“Good deal, out of the hustle, not a far walk”
I really enjoyed my stay. It was a little confusing to get to (needed to go north and then around the Trinidade station). Once inside the hotel, it seemed like a W hotel. Very nice! With the exception of the 60s hairdryer ;). I was very satisfied. Excellent breakfast buffet. Vegetarian restaurant just a couple doors down.
“On top of the city.”
For our three-day stay, the Dom Henrique was ideal for two wanderers who love exploring interesting cities and eating good food. It seems mainly a business- and conference-oriented hotel, but great for us for it's food and location. Dinner in the restaurant was a treat, for the panoramic view of the city, the highly professional service, and the excellent food. Getting there by car if you don't know the city of Porto takes patience and a good navigator, mainly due to the central location and the one-way traffic patterns. Watch for the signs.
