Great buy!Posted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: See above
Cons: The only thing that could be improved is out of the control of this hotel. The rooming house just across the street could use a coat of paint.
Location: See first para.
The neighborhood looks run down, but it was safe. The room was small but tidy, with marble floors, a comfortable bed and a very powerful air conditioner, not that we needed it too much. The rest of the place was clean as well, lots of marble tile, brass rails on the stairs. The metro stop is only two blocks away, one block past the police station, something which made us feel safe as well. There are lots of cafeterias with a three block walk to get breakfast. The best thing about this place was the staff. Very helpful people. And very nice as well. I highly recommend this to budget conscious folks. For the money, it is a great bargain and will enable you to enjoy lovely old Porto, three metro stops away.

I dont usually stay in budget hotel - but due to the last minute element we choose this hotel and we felt confident because of the reviews. The reviews are right, very nice hotel, very good service, breakfast is ok - not a five star breakfast with chef cooking on site, but good nevertheless.
