10 Nights, RelaxingPosted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: Nice staff, relaxing, good facilities.
Cons: Shuttles to other locations, day trips etc.
Location: Relaxing location, close to the sea, 20 minute drive to Porto and 15 minute walk to Espinho.
My wife and I, spent 10 nights here, we were looking for a relaxing out of the centre type location, this seemed to fit us nicely. Great facilitates, good gym, nice staff and good food. Room was nice, spacious and comfy. Free shuttles to Porto run twice daily. Great time relaxing.

Beach side location great for chill outPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location near the beach, good facilities.
Cons: Nothing really, but probably 4* and not 5* in quality. Excellent nonetheless.
Location: Very close to the beach with nice walks along the coast.
A nice hotel, probably 4 star not 5 star but still very good. Excellent facilities. Good breakfasts, lunches and dinners, so good to eat in the hotel for 2 or 3 nights before wanting a change. Meal prices very reasonable. Nice grounds, nice swimming pool. Great location near the beach so able to walk onto the beach within 2 or 3 minutes and also to walk along the sand dunes to nearby town. There is a railway line running between the hotel and the beach but was not too noisy. Recommended as a great weekend break hotel.

Very nice place, best equation quality vs pricePosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Right on the beach but very closed to Porto. The best of both worlds
Cons: Quality of meal
Location: Nice restaurant by the sea at 5 minutes drive
The staff made very good impression from arrival to departure. Location is great to benefit from beach, Douro valley and Porto.

Great hotelPosted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Everything except some of the food prices and the long distance to the airport but the daily shuttles into Porto and Esphino were very good.
Cons: More selection in the cafe especially for people that had children
Location: City of Porto and casino in Esphino
Everything excellent except our weather could have been better not a normal June. Prices a tad high on food and drink but it is a Spa and very well appointed. Beach and boardwalk great but hubby had a sore foot so we were not able to get in the miles and miles of boardwalk. The heated salt water pool a dream

Clean and quiet hotelPosted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: The staff were particularly helpful. The food was good - but the restaurant a little expensive for an evening meal. Fabulous swimming pools.
Cons: The air conditioning didn't work. It would be nice to have an inexpensive buffet restaurant for evening meals.
Location: Access to Porto and Espinol v. easy by train. Espinol good for alternative restaurants
Excellent hotel, if showing it's age a little. Enjoy the lovely breakfasts and swimming in the heated out door pool.

Great hotel overlooking the oceanPosted May 25, 2014
Pros: The view from our room over the gardens, pool and Atlantic Ocean was great.
Location: There's a good public transport system so nearby train stations Espinho or Granja were ideal for getting into Porto without the hassle of a car.
We stayed at Hotel Solverde for a week in May and wished we could have stayed longer! Helpful and polite staff, large clean rooms, good breakfast and restaurant. The beach is accessible via a boardwalk which runs along the coast and is well used by joggers and walkers. Although the hotel is about 17km out of Porto, it was good to get back to the sea after a busy day sampling port and seeing the city sights.
