It was ok. There was a problem with the heat making the room too hot. When I booked the room, it was communicated it was the last room. It did not appear that the rooms were any where near fully booked. ????

Disappointment started at check-in, I was asked for an ID. In all my years of travel, both personal and business, I have never been asked for ID. The clerk, who I think was the owner, spent several minutes copying the data into a computer. Apparently I passed muster and he allowed us to check in. If I didn't have to change quickly for a function I'd have walked at that point. Room was tiny, barely 18" between the foot of the beds and the wall. Couldn't comfortably wait in the lobby either, several generations of what was apparently the owner's family had that pretty well taken. My adult son was waiting for me in the morning and went to get something to eat in the lobby. He took his plate to a couch to watch the news and was scolded, saying he could not sit there with food.(no signage to that effect). At the function, guests told me something of the reputation of the place but I won't repeat that here, it is hearsay.

Almost impossible to find

When we FINALLY found it (don't count on GPS or directions from guy in office), the room was stifling hot when we walked in. We found dead bugs on the floor. The room was so small we had to take turns walking around.

This was a nice quiet get away. We enjoyed the comfort of our room as well as the continental breakfast with the homemade waffle maker.

Location: Good location to and from highway.
Nice staff, rather clean and neat. As the property is older, it could use some updates. But it is comfortable and acceptable.

Location convenient but not a nice motel

Pros: Location Windows on both side of room could open to get some fresh air - much needed Breakfast was nice and plentiful
Cons: Not clean nasty blankets Smelled musty. We had a smoke free room- could smell the smoke from other rooms Shower head needs to be replaced.Very dusty
The Anchorage Inn in Rochester, NH is conveniently located to the Spaulding turnpike and easy to find. The staff was OK. The other guests were drinking, loud and partying. Someone knocked on our door, by mistake, at 6:30 AM with a beer and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Seems like there are people living there not just visiting. Pets are allowed. The room was not well cleaned and very, very dated. Dusty and musty smelling. Bathroom floor had stains. For the $100 per night price it was not worth it. There are other hotels not much more money and way nicer than this one. I will not choose this motel again.

Pros: The owners of this motel go way out of their way to make your stay as nice as possible.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Close to resturants, mountains and ocean.
Hotel is close to White Mountains as well as Portsmouth, NH.

Don't book if late night checkin

I went at night to checkin..the office was closed.The phone recorder gave a after hour number to call.but no one picked.so I stayed in different hotel.
