Courtyard by Marriott in Portsmouth

The hotel itself was great! The staff was okay, maybe I just expect more from a hotel staff. I contacted the hotel before our stay and was looking for info regarding the pool or possible ealry check in as it was our anniversary. You would have thought the info would have been relayed to the staff that it was our anniversary and that maybe a little bit more effort would have been given to our stay. Maybe a better room with a view or a happy anniversary from the staff. Anything would have been great. I just think hotels should always strive to do more for their guest than just check them in & forget about them, unless they complain. I'm not one to complain, but I couldn't give this hotel a perfect score. I always strive to do more for my customers & I expect the same from others. It doesn't take much to make a person feel more welcomed, wether it is a motel or hotel, strive to do better.

Our hotel stay was fantastic! I went to NH for the first time with a friend a did not know much about the immediate surroundings. The staff was super helpful in directing us towards all the fun stuff downtown, everyone was super nice, and we found everything easily. Honestly the whole stay was perfect, the room was lovely and clean and everything was comfortable.the only reason I took one point from comfort is because the air conditioning unit is pretty loud, which was a little annoying. Overall five stars.

It was a good location for the Portsmouth area and convenient for our family. Kids loved the pool.

nice clean room...looks pretty newly updated.. just about a mile from downtown, good value.

The only complaint I have about the Portsmouth Courtyard Mariott is that it can be a little difficult to locate initially. GPS may not be able to locate the precise location and you may drive around in circles for a bit... we certainly did. That being said, the hotel is clean, the rooms are a wonderful size, and the staff are friendly and cheerful. I would recommend it highly.

Everything was clean and updated. The fitness room was fantastic. I loved that the pool and hot tub were saline- so many hotels over-do the chemicals in their pools and make them unbearable to swim in! We had breakfast in the bistro the next morning and it was unbelievably good! This was even better than the bed and breakfast we stayed in recently- and less than half the cost.

Hotel was great. Staff very friendly. The lobby was redone and has the bar and food service there. Only criticism is its not really convenient or safe to walk to Portsmouth because of the road and lack of sidewalks until you pass under 95. Definitely not a night time walk. Taxi service is available which hotel has good contacts for.

Very nice hotel, very helpful people,,,,We had a leak in our bathroom on the first night and they took care of finding us a different room right away....Then we got charged for breakfast which was actually included, so they credited the bill and gave us tickets for the breakfast the next morning....Nice and clean and service was awesome....

We liked the remodled lobby with nice fire place and up-to-date, spacious dining area. We had breakfast there the first morning and it was very good. Also, a light supper the next night. They were obviously not expecting many customers, as there was only one wait person at any time. Was slightly disappointed with the pressed turkey in my sandwich. Also, people would come in and sit down at the bar or tables and it was quite a few minutes before they were acknowedged. The room, however, was very clean and beds were comfortable. The pool looked nice. Wish we had remembered our bathintg suits!
