Nice Motor Inn!Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Older style motor inn updated! Comfortable and simple! Comparably priced.
Cons: A/C was not totally sufficient during the hot days in the upper 80's, in wall unit took awhile to cool down the room.
Location: Convenient to a lot of places. Downtown Portsmouth upscale shopping and restaurants, Kittery, ME shops, York Beach were short drives.
Very Good! Staff was extremely helpful! Continental breakfast was a good variety! Rooms were clean and updated, but small for the standard.

Outdated and uncomfortablePosted Sep 1, 2014
We stayed at The Port over Labor Day weekend. While some facilities are OK -- such as the heated pool -- we experienced plenty of issues. The room smelled of mildew and the carpet had visible stains. Our bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were foam & hard. A bright light from outside couldn't be blocked by the window shade, and the fridge was so loud we had to turn it off to sleep. The breakfast was bland -- especially the bacon & egg sandwiches which were gross. For the amount of money we spent, this motel was below standards. Definitely avoid it.

Wonderful propertyPosted Aug 3, 2014
My family stayed here one night on our way to Bar Harbor, Maine. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and given lots of options for dining and activities. The rooms are small, but the bedding and towels are soft, fluffy and new. The complimentary breakfast had lots of choices. My son left his pillow in the room and the staff called me and offered to mail it to our vacation destination or our home. Wonderful customer service!!! Everyone was very nice at the Port Inn.

Nice place to stayPosted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: The hotel seemed to have been upograded with the features of larger hotels. I liked the small kitchen we had. Of course I did not use it!
Cons: It would have been nicer to have had a waffle maker for the breakfast.
Location: Lots of things to do near by. The beaches were really beautiful and relaxing. I also lik that the pool at the hotel was salt water.
We were first surprised that this was a motor inn. But it was very comfortable and the staff was great.

Delightful hotelPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Nicely kept buildings and grounds. Room on the front was pleasant and not noisy as it was located just off a fairly busy road.
Cons: The breakfast room was a little small and dark had there been a lot of guests but absolutely fine when we stayed and not too busy.
Location: Portsmouth was a lovely town. A tourist guide in town advised us to visit Wentworth Hotel at New Castle and have afternoon tea, it was excellent.
Very nice hotel, extremely helpful reception staff. Enjoyable hot breakfast. The outdoor swimming pool was a nice facility particularly as it was very warm weather when we stayed in June.
