Wonderful property

My family stayed here one night on our way to Bar Harbor, Maine. We were greeted warmly when we arrived and given lots of options for dining and activities. The rooms are small, but the bedding and towels are soft, fluffy and new. The complimentary breakfast had lots of choices. My son left his pillow in the room and the staff called me and offered to mail it to our vacation destination or our home. Wonderful customer service!!! Everyone was very nice at the Port Inn.

Nice place to stay

Pros: The hotel seemed to have been upograded with the features of larger hotels. I liked the small kitchen we had. Of course I did not use it!
Cons: It would have been nicer to have had a waffle maker for the breakfast.
Location: Lots of things to do near by. The beaches were really beautiful and relaxing. I also lik that the pool at the hotel was salt water.
We were first surprised that this was a motor inn. But it was very comfortable and the staff was great.

Delightful hotel

Pros: Nicely kept buildings and grounds. Room on the front was pleasant and not noisy as it was located just off a fairly busy road.
Cons: The breakfast room was a little small and dark had there been a lot of guests but absolutely fine when we stayed and not too busy.
Location: Portsmouth was a lovely town. A tourist guide in town advised us to visit Wentworth Hotel at New Castle and have afternoon tea, it was excellent.
Very nice hotel, extremely helpful reception staff. Enjoyable hot breakfast. The outdoor swimming pool was a nice facility particularly as it was very warm weather when we stayed in June.

Handy stop close to outlet villages

Pros: Location
Cons: Whilst breakfast was free it was limited and the breakfast seating was limited
Location: Close to Kittery outlets and downtown, cute shops and plenty of eating places
We stopped for an overnight stay en route back to Boston. Reception staff were friendly. The location was great, just off the highway, close to the Kittery outlets and easy access to Downtown.

The internet pictures are deceiving because this hotel is on a busy bypass rd. We stayed in room 129 and it was clean but smelt strongly of smoke for a non smoking room. The staff wee very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, pastries, selection of breads, yogurts, cereals, tea, coffee etc. my suggestion would be to find something closer to town as it's a $10 taxi to get there and there is nothing else close by.

Pros: good location to get in and out of the city
Cons: the rest of the experience. better cleaning and up keep of the room, better knowledge from the staff, and follow through when something goes wrong
Location: downtown Portsmouth is 5 minutes away with a free weekend shuttle from right outside the city.
When I arrived at the inn the front looked as described and was cute. When inside I was greeted well and they even let me check in early which was great but that is were my good experience ended. The girl at the counter seemed confused and was having trouble with getting us checked in. When she asked for my credit card I asked to make sure it was to keep on file for incidentals only as the room was paid for, she said yes. We got our keys and went back to the car to find out room, this was confusing. We had to leave the parking lot and go down the street to the back entrance of the building, this would have been fine if explained to us but it took over 10 minutes for us to find our room. once inside it was small but ok sized for sleeping, but after looking through the room I found the rug to be stained and the tub to be dirty and run down as well as extremely small . After settling in I discovered that they did charge my card for the room. I was now left with $0 in my account at the beginning of my vacation. I went back up to the front desk before heading out for the day and the women who was there was confused and could not figure out what had happened. we checked out on Sunday and the money was not returned to my account until monday. This left me with no option but to use my credit card for the whole trip.
