"From Perth to Positano........."
It's always a little scary when booking accommodation on the net in a country on the other side of the world.......but we made an excellent choice. The best thing was its location...anything higher would have been too far away from everything ie restaurants, shopping, beach. Our room was on the first level with a view obscured by a tree but our traveling companions were higher and in a larger room which would have been better. The rooms were clean, comfortable, we had free wifi, breakfast was delivered each morning precisely at the time requested and always with a smile. Positano is beautiful beyond words however 5 days there was perhaps 1 day too long, unless you love to sit around relaxing . Coming from Perth we are spoilt with our snow white beaches - the sand here is more like dirt. Our day trip to Capri was enjoyable and we used Rainbow Limos to pick us up from Naples and engaged their services again for a day trip along the Amalfi coast. Our driver was Nadia an absolutely delightful local girl who knew all the best spots to explore and spoke perfect English (she is a must). We were all happy to walk on level ground again. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Pocket Guide: Positano, Amalfi Coast Family Hotels

A desirably picturesque tourist haunt, Moorish-style houses cling to Positano’s steep hillsides. It’s a pleasant walk down to the small grey beach and fishing harbour via narrow, flower-decked alleyways and steps, but the return journey takes some effort (luckily there’s a bus). A domed church is Positano’s main landmark. The town celebrates the Feast of the Assumption on 15th August by re-enacting a famous victory against the Saracens.
