Quiet, secluded locationPosted Aug 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our stay here was beyond expectations! We felt very pampered. The location is nestled in the forest and was what we needed to relax. To get to the sights there is a bus stop about 800 meters from the hotel. A bit of a walk, but from there the bus and train system are easy to use to get around both Potsdam and Berlin. We took the taxi from Berlin train station to our hotel and it was very pricey! A 3 or 5 day pass to ride everything (bus, train, tram) Is much cheaper! The Hop on-Hop off tours are your best way to get orientated.

Relaxing retreat with easy access to BerlinPosted Apr 14, 2013
Pros: comfortable room, park-like hotel property
Location: quiet and wooded, but with easy access to Potsdam and also Berlin by train
This hotel is very much a relaxing retreat "away from it all", but it also offers easy access to Berlin (50 minute bus and train ride combination). The rooms are updated, comfortable, and well-appointed and the bathroom is amazing. The hotel property is excellent as well. We went for a run one morning, and got to enjoy the wooded trails.

Great peaceful retreatPosted Apr 4, 2013
Pros: The room with lovely view and peacefulness
Cons: Expensive dining options - especially breakfast
The hotel and staff at check-in/check-out were wonderful. Lots of little treats, help with baggage and menu selections. The food was excellent and fantastic quality. It would be nice to have a simpler, less expensive option for breakfast.

Check-out made by a cleaing lady...Posted Jun 25, 2012
Pros: The favourite thing was the location of the hotel (we were with our bicycles so this was perfect for us) and the room with the bathroom(size & design)
Cons: We were thrown out of the room before check-out time (cleaning lady started to clean our room before 11:00am and threw our water which was in the bar)
Location: Location is great if you want to stay outside the city centre and don't need to be near to the old town. Hotel located in the forest outside the city
Me and my husband have stayed in Bayrisches Haus for 5 days. The hotel is located outside the city in a forest which gives the feeling of being close to the nature-you can hear the birds singing if you open the window. It's a very quiet and nice place, however it has to be kept in mind that without a bicycle it's difficult to get to the city center. Of course a car or a taxi is an option. The room and bathroom is big, very comfortable and well designed. No kettle. The breakfast is served in rather small room, around 15 tables, so it can be crowded.. Breakfast was dissapointing-small variety of bread and baking-only one kind of croissant, only one fruit salad and no peeled fruits. There were some unpeeled fruits but they were not replenished. As well as the bread, around 9:30 could be that there were no croissants left. From sweets only pound cake. But the biggest surprise and astonishment was on the last day. We were packing ourselves and putting the luggage to the car. After 15 min., around 11:00 am I came back to our room and found already a cleaning lady there. I said that I want to get in and heard "that my last bag is already at the reception and that the room is empty". We felt like thrown out of the room before 12:00 by a cleaning lady..Our things were at the recpetion but without a water which we had for the way. The cleaning lady said she threw it and we didn't get another one instead. So we lost the access to our room at around 11:00 am - before check-out time !!!

Restful stayPosted May 16, 2012
Cons: 800m walk to the hotel was tiresome. But we were happy to be able to rely solely on public transit during our stay
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and idyllic. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly -- they went out of their way to help us find locations to purchase new clothes, and coordinate efforts with the Tegel airport to reclaim our lost luggage. Food was amazing!

A gem in the forestPosted Apr 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
This a lovely place in beautiful surrounding yet only minutes away from Potsdam. Service is excellent, the breakfast sumptuous and the rooms delightful. All in the German tradition of excellence. However, the 1* restaurant did not meet with our expectations. Nevertheless we enjoyed the stay there so much that ee extended it for a full week.

Excellent HotelPosted May 26, 2005
Everything about the hotel was first class--excellent service, restaurant, good sized rooms. Very pretty and quiet location as well. The one thing travellers should note is that it is remote from public transportation, and you can't easily walk into the city from there. Cabs are readily obtained by the hotel, so getting into town is not a problem, but if you're staying there for a while you might want to consider having a rental car and avoid the 25-30 Euro round trip cab fares into central Potsdam.
