This motel offers a small, cozy affordable room. Everything is up to date and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Plus there is free wi fi. I would stay there again for sure.

Nice hotel.Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Location; just a few minutes from downtown (driving).
Location: I was there for college purposes so it was just minutes away. Enjoyed the Village Diner for breakfast. People were very nice.
It was just an overnight stay but it was very nice and clean; no problems. Close to the colleges and downtown. I would stay again.

Brief overnight trip for Crane music audition.Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Reasonably priced. Quiet.
Cons: The WIFI signal was weak and inconsistent in Rm 116, which is the separate hexagonal building,
Location: Close to our destination. Many dining options.
Despite outside temperature 0 degrees, room was toasty warm.

Good location & comfortable stay for the $Posted Dec 9, 2013
Pros: location, cost
Cons: Desk chair. It was shot. Bathroom had no shelf
2nd time staying at the Scottish Inn. Beds & bathroom very clean, desk chair was a bit worn. For the location, cost, it's not a bad deal. It includes a continental breakfast, and it's just down the road from a good restaurant. wi-fi not the best, but works. Overall, I'd recommend it.

Ok for the pricePosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Reasonably priced
Cons: Better snow removal
The hotel is relatively inexpensive and is what I expected in this price range. I've stayed here before, and it was a similar experience. About the only downside was that it snowed while I was there and the parking lot wasn't very well cleared, as it was, I fell trying to clear off my car. Not a big deal but there was quite a bit of ice under the snow.

Clean, small roomsPosted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: Clean, comfortable. They have installed digital receivers so valuable desk space in such a small room was not taken up.
Cons: Breakfast buffet.
Few clients during our stay. We were just passing through. Small room, very clean and comfortable, good shower. These to my mind determine whether a motel is good or not, and the answer is "yes." Free WiFi. It's a bit out of town so you have to use your car to get into Potsdam. We passed on the breakfast buffet which was minimal.

Good price, decent hotelPosted Sep 15, 2013
The hotel rooms are small but clean, beds comfortable and you can't beat the price. Close to Clarkson University, we'll stay there when visiting our son.

Took my son to Clarkson University where he is starting his freshman year.Motel is less than a mile from Clarkson University. Motel is also less than a mile from Walmart. The room had a small refrigerator,a microwave, television with many channels, table and chair, ironing board w/iron,comfy bed,and air conditioning unit which is a big plus. Staff was courteous and kind. Bathroom was fine.

Friendly, helpful owners, cute, cozy rooms.Posted Aug 13, 2013
This hotel had cute, cozy, comfortable rooms. They felt very clean. The owners live on site, and they are always there to make sure everything is going well for you. Unfortunately, the room I was first assigned smelled like cigarette smoke, but they immediately switched me to a different room, which smelled wonderful. There are swings, picnic tables, and a barbecue outside for anyone's use. My son loved all the swings. The hotel is three minutes away from Walmart, and five minutes away from Clarkson University and downtown Potsdam. My only complaint is that the boxsprings of the beds were squeaky. All in all, a wonderful, inexpensive, cozy place to stay, much cheaper and better than just about any place around.
