Amazing location, gorgeous rooms and above all the customer service was the best I have ever had. We had a wedding and required an early check in, they phoned us early to advise that early check-in was available so we didn't have to stress on our drive. On check out, we were able to leave car in allocated parking while we walked into the city and returned later then check out time. Reception were amazing over the phone as well as face to face. Very valuable asset.

I was very please with everything at the Bayswater Sydney. Located a short walk from Kings Cross subway station, really awesome restaurants and night clubs. The mattress was a little firmer than I'm used to but fine. There were a few maintenance items that I had to notify the staff about: lamp bulb burned out. Closet door hinge needing repair. Shower door hinge falling off. The staff went way overboard to help us book some excursions and reschedule tickets that I had already bought for the Opera House. In the evening and early morning you can hear the subway trains as they pass under the motel. It's a faint rumble like thunder off in the distance. I'm pretty sure that the trains stop at 11pm and don't start up until like 5am so it wasn't a significant issue for me... just a slight bother in the mornings.

I have used this property for many years. It is close enopugh to the city to be convenient, has dining and bars nearby, and is relatively easy to get to - and to get out of town either south and the airport or north through the harbour tunnel.
It is right on top of Kings Cross station for easy travel into the CBD (one/two stops) or up to Bondi Junction.
The rooms were clean and spacious enough. WiFi is free if you are IHG member.

My husband and father in-law stayed at the Macleay Hotel for 4 nights. The hotel was walking distance to almost everything. The room we had was small but we only needed the room to sleep and keep our luggage so that wasnt a big deal. The bathroom could do with an upgrade (shower is really small) but other than that no issues. The room is clean and the beds are soo comfy. The location is so ideal and from our room we can see the Sydney Harbor Bridge and The Opera House. It was amazing.

This was a very nice hotel and at a very reasonable rate. They put me at the back with views over Elizabeth Bay and the room was bright and large and quiet. I'd just come from a dingy hotel with a tiny room and shared bathroom so the facilities at the DeVere were welcomed and the room was only slightly more than I'd paid at the previous hotel. The location was good, close to Kings Cross but far enough away that you can escape it when you want to. Daily housekeeping meant that the room was always clean and tidy. I would recommend the DeVere as a great place to stay, it isn't a place to be if you want to meet fellow travelers. The staff on the front desk are very helpful and it is open 24 hours.

Kings Cross is an eclectic collection of bars, shops, cafés, budget accommodation, and adult entertainment venues. Radiating out from Darlinghurst Road and Macleay Street, this area is the place to be for an uncensored nightlife experience. It is also peppered with some of the city’s most popular restaurants – from the cheap and cheerful, to the hip and stylish.
