Sleepless in New Paltz

Posted Nov 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: downtown New Paltz close by, got up early and got out as soon as possible for a decent breakfast.
Hotel pillows had hair on them from previous guests, only one lock on door, chain lock broken, walls dirty, curtains old and yucky, could not sleep, didnt want to stay, thought about leaving during the night, next to exotic dancer club...yuk....worst place ever stayed at. wish I researched better.

Econo Lodge New Paltz

This was a stopping point for the night before my next day's adventure at the Mohonk Preserve. I did not feel unsafe in the parking lot. I arrived in the evening around 9 pm and was greeted by pleasant front desk staff. My room was sufficient for the evening, and small grab-and-go breakfast was also sufficient.

Lousy hotel in new paltz area

Posted Sep 1, 2014
The room was dingy and smelled like a sewer. It was late when we checked in so we couldn't find another room.

Not so great

Posted Aug 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Room was a little "icky" feeling and had a bad odor. Couldn't keep window open because of the noise from highway. Right next to a strip club. Staff was very friendly, there was coffee in the morning. It's rated a two star hotel for a reason. It was all that was available nd not very expensive, I guess you get shattered you pay for. I think I will fork out the big bucks next time just to be comfortable.

An okay stop on our way

Posted Aug 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
The lady at the front desk was friendly and nice. The room was really clean and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was really clean and there was enough towels. Although there was a little musty smell and the water was a bit sulphurous (which is normal in these region) we slept really good and it was quiet. The breakfast had several types of bread and a decent coffee. We will definitely come back if we are in that area.

Old and funky, but did the job

Posted Aug 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Not a honeymoon spot nor a "destination". But very economical and perfect for dad and grown sons to rest and re-group before cliff-climbing the next day. All the gadgets worked, room was secure, place was quiet, location was convenient to town, fresh fruit and pastry breakfast. But exterior had peeling paint and warped stairs... interior was old-ish. No problem for "the guys" road-tripping through and playing a couple board games before a good nights sleep. Would definitely return because of price, security and did the job.
