“Great Place to Stay for the Best Price in the Area”

The staff at the Poughkeepsie Inn made my stay enjoyable. They created a nice comfortable atmosphere and the staff was extraordinarily friendly. Definitely, the best hotel in the area for the price.

“Best Buy in Poughkeepsie”

This hotel is the best buy in Poughkeepsie. A hotel is usually a function of the staff and this hotel would be rated a 6 on a scale of 1-5 if available. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and most hospitable. The rooms I have stayed at are always clean, and provides all of the usual needs. An outstanding shower, plenty of hot water, cable TV, personally controlled thermostats for temperature, internet capability, morning coffee, donuts, bagels.. continental breakfast. The price is very competitive and the location is perfect. It is located 10 minutes from Hyde part and the FDR national landmark, 2 minute walk to Samuel B Morse federal Historic site, 5 minutes by car to the largest Mall in Dutchess county (Galleria), 5 minute drive to Marist College and 7 minutes or so to Vassar College.some of the finest restaurants in NY STATE are also with 10 minutes of this hotel, including the culinary Institute of America, where some of the best chefs in the world have been trained (they offer 4 of the finest restaurants in NY). I would highly recommend this hotel for convenience, location and reasonable accomodations at an excellent price.

“Good for an overnight”

It is an older motel but clean and comfortable for an overnight stay. Convienent to restaurants and shopping.

“Dumpy on the Outside, Nice on the Inside!”

The Poughkeepsie Inn looks a bit down on its luck, but my room was actually very comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast was lean, but the bagels were actually excellent, and there was plenty of coffee & tea, 24 hours. The folks at the desk were very nice. Overall, if I could have stayed at another hotel, I would have, but because there are so many colleges in the area, it might be your least expensive choice. And so it's not bad, but not my first choice.

“we were happy!”

We had a great nights sleep. No butt burns on anything, room was odorless and the staff was very helpful

“Good, but not great.”

Clean, but definitely not an upscale hotel. Staff reasonably helpful. For the area, it's a decent value for the price.

“Cheap hotel for alumni weekends”

Good place to stay for what it is. Don't expect much more out of it then a place to keep your bags for the weekend.

“sketchy”

While the staff was incredibly accomodating and very pleasant, the overall condition of the hotel was below par. The parking lot was not well lit at night, and the exterior of the hotel itself was in a state of decay and disrepair. The patrons two doors down from my room actually had a hibatchi grill set up outside their room to cook their meals, and some of the male tenants made me feel very uncomfortable as a woman staying by herself.

“Not impressed”

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were no better than adequate. I could hear a flooding sound every time someone flushed a toilet nearby, and the beds smelled as if they had not been properly laundered. The free breakfast offered no healthy choices -- only bagels with cream cheese and doughnuts. Even a banana would have helped!

“Pretty Sketch”

This motel resembles the sketchy 1970s hotel where 1 story rooms face an open parking lot. It feels like in movies where troubled people stay or where murders occur. If you draw your blinds everyone can see you, and when you close your blinds the room becomes pitch black. Expect just to sleep there. No comfort, small TV. It is, however, located in a commercial area so you can easily leave (by car) to grab a bite to eat.
