Amazing viewPosted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: The bed! Best nights sleep I've ever had in a hotel.
Location: We visited the lake, gift shop and cafe - great on a dry day.
After several problems with confusion over the booking (hotel booked us two rooms instead of one plus then told we were booked in for two nights not the one requested) we arrived to find a lovely room with spectacular views of the lake. We could not fault the room but did feel areas of the hotel could do with some maintenance and were disappointed with the breakfast we received, no fresh apple, no sausages, hard eggs, I asked for bread and was given cold toast etc. If you're not on a budget and want a gorgeous room with fantastic views then I would recommend a stay.

FaultlessPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were all beautifully cooked and presented.
The service at the hotel was first class. The staff went out of their way to make sure our experience was memorable.

Picturesque location for an outstanding hotelPosted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: Location, service, quality.
Cons: Local thermostat for rooms or air conditioning
Location: The lake and associated attractions are many, including walks, birdwatching, kayaking etc.
Everything was great, service, location, quality. Just one tiny issue - the room was exceptionally warm and there seemed to be no in room thermostat to alter the temperature.

Excellent hotel in a stunning locationPosted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: The rooms were clean and the complementary items were high quality. There were several nice touches, including the 'do not disturb' dogs.
Cons: There was no lift in the hotel. We stayed with our five week old son and it was a real trek to get to the room with all of the paraphernalia he needed
Location: Wonderful location adjacent to Lake Vyrnwy. Lots too do including walks, birdwatching, cycling and canoeing
We were very satisfied with the hotel, it was reasonably priced for the level of comfort and the beauty of the surroundings. The room was lovely with a sun patio just outside and far larger than I have come to expect from staying regularly in London hotels. The location was simply breathtaking - when eating in the restaurant, a window seat overlooking the lake is obligatory!

Birthday weekendPosted Apr 19, 2014
We recently returned again for a 2 day break and upgraded to a lake premier room. Loved every minute and found the food and amenities to be as excellent as always.

Great place despite the weather.Posted Feb 24, 2014
Cons: Restaurant meal quite expensive and I would have liked to have seen a 3 course option (not just the 2 and 5 courses).
We had a lovely long weekend (2 nights) - hotel was lovely with staff very helpful and abundant even for a mid Feb. The hotel was also packed given the time of year - a good sign. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay. Whether you eat/drink in the main restaurant or the associated Tower Tavern, the food was good. The burger I had was wonderful. One nice little thing was that while at dinner, the cleaning staff must have come in and washed up cups etc and refilled the coffee and tea supplies - nice touch.

Breathtaking views, comfortable rooms but the restaurant was very forgettable for dinner and breakfast.
