Really old town, lovely setting.

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Parking.
Cons: TV reception was very poor.
Location: Just a few hundred yards from the hotel is the old market town high street, a 16th century pub serving great food (Triangle), and riverside walks.
Just a stopover from North to South Wales. This was easy to find, and very picturesque village.

Greeted by Paul on arrival and shown to room. Very tidy with everything I need. Good breakfast , fresh and hot. Choice of cereals, toast beverage and full English. Hotel set in the heart of the town with plenty of surrounding pubs.

Working on a local event meant arriving very late and leaving very early. The owner stayed up to make sure we got in ok and packed a massive packed lunch for us because we left before breakfast. Room was big and clean and the hotel was lovely

Pros: Friend staff, lovely breakfast, clean room and location.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Port Merion is great.
From start to finish the Horseshoe delivered. Friendly people running the place, right in the middle of everything, plenty of local pubs, big clean room. Absolutely excellent in all regards.

Welcoming Hosts

Posted Jun 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
The guest house proved comfortable and convenient for a 2 night stay. The manager Paul willingly provided an early breakfast (7am) so that I could enter a cycling event. He also invited me to keep my bike in his secure garage. The breakfasts were tasty with a comprehensive choice. An evening meal can be provided but guests have to order at breakfast time on the day. We were recommended The Triangle pub for evening meals which proved an excellent choice.(Best to pre-book especially at weekends).

Friendly but tired

Lovely friendly owner who cooked a good breakfast. We found the twin room a little dull and tired but otherwise clean with basic amenities.
