City Guest House - Poznan

Posted Jul 10, 2011 on Hotels.com
Th location was perfect. About 3 minute stroll to the Old town square. The owners were very nice and helpful with any question. The value and location was Exceptional. I will stay here again. Minor Downsides: Room could use darker curtains to block the morning sun. If climbing stairs is a problem for you, pass. Finding the address...it's 3 and the apartment is 8. Could use some sign outside on the street. Wish the art gallery was open to guest.

A real hidden treasure

City Guest House was a real find - very unusually located in what seems to be an art studio storage area but thoughtfully decked out with all the comforts of home. For an extremely low price (less than singles were going for in local hostels), we had a huge, sunny room with lots of storage and work space. Bathroom is shared between two guestrooms but is immaculate and well-designed. Very friendly and helpful English-speaking service; the host even took time to get us oriented in town. Location is ideally set between the very charming Old Town square and the city's main shopping district. One possible drawback was the thin mattressess - they were basic Ikea, comfortable enough to sleep on but not ideal for those in need of back support. But overall, this is a very cool and lovely place for a great bargain!

Strange, but nice.

The location is excellent. Poznan has a lovely central square and this apartment is just minutes away. Also very good tourist information office on the square and plenty of eating places. The apartment itself needs some work..it seems to be a work in progress. The rooms are big with balcony but it is still chip board on the floor with some rugs. It has single beds and an odd range of furniture and no tv. The toilet with shower is also shared which didn't present any problem but something to be aware of. Owners were very helpful and friendly and it is all spotless. Certianly not your standard type of acommodation but overall I would recommend if you have a bit of a free spirit.
