Fiesta - Bright restaurant with tiled floors and large windows overlooking the street. Buffet breakfast served daily. Czech and international dishes including salads, stews, rice dishes and home-made cakes served buffet style at lunchtime from Monday to Friday. Located next to the lobby; separate entrance to street.

Havana Bar - Open in the evenings for hot chocolate, coffee, cocktails and cigars. Cuban-style setting with wood furniture, ceiling fans, decorative umbrellas and black and white prints of Cuba on the walls.

“Nice hotel, good location, good value”

Hotel is conveniently located to main tourist areas. Parking available and easy to access (surcharge). Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Family friendly as we were traveling with our 2 year old. Unfortunately, it was very warm during our visit to Prague and our room became incredibly hot. When we opened the windows to cool it down, the street noise kept us awake. The windows were great at keeping the noise out when closed. But we did have difficulty sleeping as our choices were to be too hot or disturbed by all the noise.

“Excellent location”

The hotel was in an excellent location (100 m from Namesti Republiky station) and half a block from the Palladium mall; within a 10 minute walk of Wenceslas Square as well. The staff was friendly enough and the breakfast buffet had quite a good variety of things on offer.

“comfortable small hotel near Powder Tower & Old Town Square”

We were in this hotel in May & thought that we might not need air conditioning (which the room did not have) but unfortunately, it was a little too warm for us. It helped to open the windows at night but there was a lot of street noise (the room was in the front). The hotel provided us with a desk fan which helped. The beds were very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was good with a lot of choice, however, there were some hot items we did not know what they were! The desk staff was very helpful about arranging tours for us.

I would recommend a hotel within walking distance of 10 minutes to the Old Town Square

“Simple decore and clean with a great staff and location. Great bar/restaurant across the street too”

perfect location 1 block from the best square in town, the Metro, buses, and trolleys. The room was a bit simple - kind of like motel 6 but clean. And the staff was great. Nice breakfast in the morning too. I'd stay there again. thank you - thank you very much

“Very nice Hotel in Praga, the Staff was very helpfull and friendly”

All the front desk staff was very friendly and they gave me the information I needed. No problems with the language barrier. The breakfast was good. Loved the crepes!! Location is very nice, closed to your needs!

Area recommendations

I would recommend the Stare Mesto (Old Town) area, because is very convenient , it is the geographical center of Prague and the home of its best known tourist attractions.

“Best hotel in Prague”

There is a plaque on the door of the Atlantic Hotel stating that it is one of Prague's "Small Charming Hotels", and this describes the hotel perfectly. The rooms were clean and comfortable (one exception--it was hard to turn the heat down--I had to open the window so I didn't bake). The two best features: 1) breakfast--there was a great selection of breads, fresh fruit, salads, hot beverages, pastry, and some crepe-like treat that I couldn't get enough of. 2) Location--the hotel is one block from Namesty Republika and the Old Town, with convenient trams and subway service. It is walking distance from Old Town Square. The Palladium Mall is on the same block--a multi-level mall including a grocery store!

Area recommendations

Old Town--there are many beautiful buildings, churches, restaurants etc. It's a little "touristy" but not offensively so. Jewish Quarter--you can visit synagogues dating back to the 12th century, and learn about the history of Prague's Jewish community, the oldest one in Europe. Prague Castle--reminded me of Hogwarts, but it was real!

When to go

In the winter. People will tell you how horrible the weather is, but we had thermal underwear and good boots, so we were perfectly comfortable. The advantage is that it is not packed with other tourists!

Dining

The traditional Czech meal is pork, dumplings and cabbage, covered with gravy. It sounds dull but it was actually delicious. All our meals turned out to be delicious (no matter what we ordered) and reasonably priced. Also the Czech basically invented beer, so you might as well indulge.

“The place to stay in Praha 1”

The only thing I would change with the Hotel would be to add a Lay-Z-Boy to the room. The hotel is clean, kind, and with Wi-Fi.

Traveler's tip

There is a grocery store about 50 meters south of the hotel for fruit and water. The cost is about 1/3 the cost in the tourist areas.

“good value”

As far as finding affordable hotel rates with a good location, I was very pleased with Hotel atlantic. They do have internet access with a pc in the lobby, and that was very useful for me to book further travel plans. Location can't be beat.
