What a Perfect Prague Hotel! *****Posted Mar 21, 2012
Pros: The happy smiling staff who always helped at every turn!
Cons: Really not applicable! Great price and great hotel!
Location: When looking at a map, dismiss that this is on the other side of the river from all the tourist areas as there is a great tram link to all you need!
What a fantastic stay we had! This was a really great find of a hotel. The staff were all very helpful and went the extra mile at almost every step of the way! We arrived early and they offered to look after our bags, this was following being given a welcome drink. Staff had a great grasp of English and were very courteous to us on our stay. Whenever we had a question or mentioned we were going on a visit around Prague they helped with maps and their recommendations for restaurants really helped us out when we were on a budget as this was the other side of the river there wasn't the hiked up price of 'tourist menus'. The hotel is greatly located, don't dismiss it when looking on a map as there is a tram stop less than 1 minute walk from the hotel - if you are going for a 3 day trip, get a 3 day pass and you will be able to make the most of Prague with this great hotel as your base! The rooms are cleaned and tidied every day with a rose and chocolates put on the bed. In the morning the breakfast provided is continental and just what you need prior to a day out in Prague. Also it was great that the staff had a smile first thing in the morning! This hotel puts other more well known hotels to shame, it offers what I would say is a 5 star experience at a snip of the price! Thanks to all for a memorable trip to Prague!!

Good hotel, wrong placePosted Oct 2, 2011
On arriving at the hotel the receptionist was very helpful with information about the local area for transport and food. The room although spacious had lots of cupboards and shelves that were not needed, whilst a kettle was as there were no refreshment making facilities in the room. It is a bit further away from the old town than stated an hours walk at least, not 20 mins, as we did do it on several occasions. The transportation locally is very good with trams around the back of the hotel and a major underground station a 10 min walk away. There was some building work going on around the hotel but as we were out most of the time it did not bother us that much. The breakfast had a range of cereals, meats and cheeses, plus there were various drinks that could be had. All in all the hotel was very good just not quite in the right place as the area did seem a little run down.

Central Hotel TiepoloPosted Jun 28, 2011 on Hotels.com
I found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Breakfast very good--lots to eat and good variety of food. Service was excellent--friendly, helpful staff--the most helpful I have ever met and I have been to quite a few countries. Location is not too bad once you have learned to get around on the trams and metro, it is about 20 minutes to the old town. Would advise organised transport from airport to hotel if you have never been to Prague before to avoid getting lost. My heart sank when walking along the street approaching the hotel because of the dog poo and run down buildings but don't let that put you off as the hotel is fine and there were no issues re safety. I was also surprised to find very little noise at night. Would definately recommend.

Great hotel - poor locationPosted Jun 4, 2011
The Hotel / Apartment was great - very clean, lovely room - we had room 21. The breakfast was a plenty with good choice. There was some building work going on and it was rather off putting using the bathroom with workmen outside ! As the hotel is on the main road from the Airport it was a times pretty noisy. The Hotel is about 20mins from the Old Town but Trams are very frequent from the back of the Hotel. - Dont let anyone tell you its only about a 20min walk to the old town.- its more like an hour. There is nothing round the Hotel and when we first arrived I was very disappointed with the location - its is in quite a run down area, but as I said the Hotel was great but in a lousy location. Having said that, our friends stayed at a " Small and Charming " Hotel in the Old Town - which didn't live up to the name ----- it was certainly small but not very charming !!! Our Hotel was much better

Tiepolo an Okay experiencePosted Oct 22, 2010 on Hotels.com
Hotel is clean, staff was okay too. They asked you to leave you room key with the desk when you left each time which was a bit odd and when we asked the staff why they didn't seem to know. The neighborhood sucks, but we didn't take the train and walked to all the major sights and made due without public transport. The WIFI internet was no working the first night but they promptly fixed it, this happened one more time during our stay, but it seems if they know about it its no problem. Breakfast was typical, boiled eggs, bread, jam, butter, tea/coffee, cheese, ham, whole fruit, crackers, granola/yogurt, cereal, etc. Over all enjoyable, CHEAP! and probably would stay again but will probably never be in Prague again... *If coming from the train station make sure you ask MORE THAN ONE cab about the price...also check with the hotel and see what the going rate is for a ride. We should have known better....but arrived late and wanted to get back to the hotel. Euros are legal currency now too BTW.

Decent hotel for a night's stayPosted Jun 29, 2010 on Hotels.com
The Tiepolo staff was very freindly and helpful. The alley to the secure parking area was rather small and a tight fit for larger vehicles. The neighborhood looked kind of questionable and is located on a busy street. The breakfast was good and well replenished.
