Good location but closer to 2-3 starPosted Aug 23, 2014
The lobby and staff were nice but the lifts, halls and rooms were more rundown than expected. The lift was missing buttons and a lot of lights were burnt out. At booking it seemed like a steal under a hundred $ a night but that price seems pretty fair now.

A clean, comfortable hotel close to the main sitesPosted Aug 15, 2014
Pros: It's closeness to the main life of the city but it's quietness since it is down a side street and away from traffic.
Cons: The decor in the entrance needs to be changed since from the outside, the hotel looks as if it's closed. A brighter and lighter look would improve it.
Location: Ideally located with plenty to do and see around the main square and going into the surrounding historic areas, all close to the hotel.
Our room on the 5th floor was very quiet with no external view apart from looking down into the hotel's atrium. The room & bathroom was excellent with bed linen etc., changed every day and everything tidied. There was an electric kettle, cups, tea bags, coffee and a room safe for use (free). The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel foyer is a bit gloomy and unwelcoming since it is now dated in style although no doubt was once thought to look 'sophisticated' and 'chic'. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with plenty of choice and was varied occasionally from one day to the next. Almost as soon as a table was vacated the staff immediately cleared away the dirty dishes and re-set it. The hotel is close to 'Nam Republiky' Metro station, two large shopping centres and 2 of the main concert halls, and buses, trams and taxis are all very readily accessible. The main city square and it's constant busy tourist life is about 10 minutes walk away with a multitude of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops on the way. The 'Charles Bridge' and river 'Vltiva' are about 15 to 20 minutes walk away. Despite the rather cumbersome name of 'Grand Majestic Plaza Hotel', this is a hotel we have no hesitation in recommending and would certainly return to again on any future visit to Prague.

Very nice hotel!Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Rooms are well sized and comfort is excellent!
Cons: Parking should be more convenient. Have vallet parking available!
Location: Location is in the old city very close to shopping and touristic attractions.
This is an almost excellent hotel. Rooms are large and very clean, staff is very helpful and the location is very convenient. The only negative I found is lack of parking, but if you don't drive there, this shouldn't be an issue.

Impressive large hotel in the centrePosted Aug 6, 2014
When you first walk into this hotel from the fairly narrow lane filled with tempting restaurants you immediately think of a Hilton sized hotel with its large reception hall. The rooms are equally impressive with spacious doubles and bathrooms. The minibar full, and thankfully with emergency water and snacks to help with the warmer temperatures in Jul-Aug. All the staff were extremely helpful - especially the baggage room attendants who helped our group with stirage and transport on 3 occasions. The only thing that could be improved to my mind at least is the cooked breakfast items. The buffet in contrast has plenty of options to satisfy most.

Grand reception.Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: The clean open reception area.
Cons: The decor in corridors is very dark. A lighter colour would be more inviting.
Location: A distance from main attractions. Which we liked as it was quiet. All within walking distance though.
The open plan reception area was very inviting. The reception Staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was highly recommended. It was very good but we had experienced better.

Very nice hotel, great bed which is very important. Only issue was no hot water for showers one morning. Would stay again.
