Good place to start study abroad

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: The breakfast was abundant and varied, including fruit, salad, and cereal as well as eggs--which we like because we are mostly vegetarian.
Cons: Give more information about room size to the guests. There are deluxe rooms and smaller rooms, which are adequate but not necessarily expected
Location: The #22 tram stops in the square outside the building. The easy walk down to Charles Bridge takes about 15 minutes. You can take the tram back up.
My daughter and I stayed five nights while I was helping her get oriented to life in a new city. We couldn't have had a nicer place to start. It was unusual to stay in an old monastery building in a historic district. We liked the room, though it was a bit small, and we were especially happy with the bathroom because it had a good shower. The staff were helpful beyond what I have often seen. We had unusual needs for taxis, for example, at the end of our stay, with one going to the airport and the other to an apartment. The concierge arranged for a driver to take us separately, at fixed prices. They did offer to give us a larger room, I should add, but we had settled into the smaller one and decided to stay there

Good location quiet but close to town

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: The hotel was in a good position and the staff very helpful. The location was excellent and the micro brewery's close by were great.
Cons: We should have upgraded our room but were not offered this when we booked. With Expedia. The room was ok but too many stairs with tiny high windows.
Location: Within walking distance of most places.
We were able to walk to the areas of interest easily. We enjoyed the sights and the general feel of Prague which is friendly. One of the downsides of Prague is the large amounts of tourist guided tours it makes some of the areas impossible to visit, they blocked the paths and seem to have no concept of other people trying yo pass, I was jostled and bumped into on more than one occasion. The parks around the palace are lovely and we enjoyed strolling and sitting there. Lunch close to the Charles bridge was very nice indeed with lovely views and away from the crowds.

Great little hotel, great location

Posted Jun 24, 2014
My family enjoyed a five day break in Prague at this hotel, which was a real find. The reception staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly. Very good, spacious and clean rooms. Breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is in an exceptional location, within the gounds of an historic monastery. The private hotel garden has great views over Prague and provides a small oasis of peace and tranquility in which to relax - and escape from the hoardes of other tourists! Also within the grounds of the monastery is a micro brewery which serves outstanding beer and very good food. Getting to the city centre and the sights is quite straight-forward, and downhill. Getting back up the pretty steep hill to the hotel can be a bit of a challenge, and for those may struggle, tram no 22 is recommended - it stops very close to the hotel. One thing to be wary of is that the hotel reception closes at 7 pm. However, a remote intercom system operates, and that system seems to operate satisfactorily for those that may arrive at the hotel after 7 pm. This small hotel is definitely recommended to those that appreciate something a little different and don't want to be a part of the herd.

Beautiful area overlooking historic Prague

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Historic beauty.
Location: Easy walking distance to many attractions. About 1/2 hour cab ride to the airport.
We arrived dripping wet in the middle of a thunderstorm. The hotel staff was quick to check us in. Later they recommended an excellent restaurant just steps away. They arranged a cab to take us to the airport the next morning. Every question or need was taken care of right away in a very friendly and helpful way.

A unique hotel experience.

Pros: Location, yummy breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.
Location: Just outside the city center, but restaurants and park/garden nearby. Petrin Tower is a short walk (breath taking views of Prague). The 22 tram takes
Had a nice, comfortable stay at the monastery. Room was small but clean. The staff is great, especially Stepan (at the front desk); he's very helpful with good suggestions for nearby restaurants and directions for getting back to the monastery from the city center (the 22 tram is a quick ride to the city center). It was nice to come back to the quiet monastery after a long day of tourist filled sight seeing.

Awesome experience

Posted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: Unbeatable experience. Was given two room options. Heated tiles in the bathroom.
Cons: I am a little too picky about towels. Maybe for 95% of people those would be fine, but for me could be a little better.
Location: Super easy transportation using the Tram 22 to every major point around the city. Couldn't recommend more...
There is no way that you can beat the experience of staying in a former monastery compares to any big hotel chain. Tip: Ask the staff (super friendly and willing to help) to go on the back. There are 2 benches where you can watch the sunset over Prague, beautiful view and specially for free for the guests.

Monastery hotel, Prague, Czech Republic

Posted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: Excellent service!
Cons: The heater was not very strong and the shower could use a curtain instead of an accordion door to preclude from letting water out to the floor.
Location: Nice restaurant pub next door with great food and their own micro brewery beers.
The hotel was a little difficult to find initially, but it was well worth the find! An excellent hotel with amazing service.
