Lovely hotel , wonderful locationPosted Aug 15, 2013
Pros: The physical plant and location were wonderful, and the staff was excellent.
Cons: The shower could have been better
Location: The hotel is located in the old town and is on the river. It was convenient to concerts, restaurants and tourist sights.
The service was excellent from the moment of arrival to checkout. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel restaurant was excellent. Eating in the courtyard on a beautiful summer night was a treat.

Prime Location, yet cozy and private.Posted Jul 18, 2013
Location: The jazz club Agharta was a nice surprise, with local bands playing and guest appearances of international jazz players.
We loved our stay at Pachtuv Palace. We enjoyed the prime location by the river and in the heart of Prague's historical center, The privacy and quiet of its inner courtyard gave us some respite from the crowd and noise of Prague in July. The staff was courteous and attentive, the food excellent. They also decorated our room with rose petals and gave us a bottle of local champagne for our anniversary. We would definitely go back!

Very close to Charles Bridge!Posted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: location, friendliness of staff, l'occitane toiletries!!!
Cons: mattress was too soft for my taste and wished the faint moldy smell of an old building wasn't there but oh well.
Location: very close to Charles Bridge and easy walks to all the tourist hot spots

Superb venue for a special celebration.Posted Jun 16, 2013
Wonderful experience, can't praise the hotel & Staff enough; they made us feel welcome and special, from the first to the last minute - well done. The location of the hotel was ideal, with only 7 minutes casual stroll to the Old Town Square.

Great HotelPosted Jun 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great Hotel. A little difficult to find. I even had the street address and the cab driver dropped me off in the wrong spot. It is really close to Charles Bridge and many restaurants and clubs. Great Stay. Very expensive laundry prices though...beware.

Dear Nick, thank you for sharing your comments with other travellers. I am happy that you enjoyed your stay at Pachtuv Palace, especially the location. I am sorry your taxi driver wasnt proffessional enough and he dropped you off at the wrong location. Our guests usually dont experience similar problems. I would recommend to use our hotel drivers who are very polite and professional in comparison with city taxis. I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon, with kind regards, Lucie Dagan Hotel Manager

Nice hotel close to the centerPosted Jun 16, 2013
Situated in the historical center. Appartments with the view to the Karl's bridge. Very friendly staff! Rooms really looks like rooms in the old castle, but with all modern facilities. Appartments has two WC! ;)

PoorPosted Jun 15, 2013
Prague was in a state of emergency from the floods. There was no update on the website and we had to call internationally to check if the hotel was under water. We were told the day before that the hotel "would probably be ok the next day." Poor communication from the staff in a time when it was most crucial made us dislike this place.
Jan 19, 2013 by Dagan
Dear Valued Guest, I was very disappointed while reading your review. I am sorry we failed to meet your expectations. The whole situation during flooding was very stressful time and we also had limited information as the situation was changing dramatically and we didn’t know if and when we will have to evacuate. From your review it is not visible if you stayed with us in the end. I really regret we disappointed you with the lack of the information and therefore you gave us only one star. I wish I could welcome you at Pachtuv Palace in the future to hopefully change your opinion about our hotel. With kind regards, Lucie Dagan Hotel Manager

Horrible Bathroom, good room & locationPosted Jun 6, 2013
Pros: Hotel staff tries to please. Hotel drivers (instead of taxis) were excellent (Stan and Robert).
Cons: The horrible bathroom with low (head splitting height beams)
Location: Good location near Charles bridge and river. Super short walk to historic site & medium walk to castle hill.
I purchased a pre-paid, non-cancelable triple room (or suite) with a RIVER VIEW for approximately $560 per night. When we arrived they told us they had no rooms with a view and that we could have a large two bedroom suite instead. I tried to negotiate but to no avail. We marched up two flights of stairs to discover what some people might call "a room with character". It was ok. I never worry too much about the decor. I like a comfortable bed and a good bathroom. The bed was fine (though the pillows were foam and sort of hard but we requested softer foam pillows and they were much better). My issue was the bathroom. It was truly horrible. Bad lighting (very dark), a pedestal sink with little to no counter space, no hooks for shelves for our stuff (after all there were three of us). But the worst part was the lack of a shower curtain. It was impossible to take a shower without spraying water all over the entire bathroom (including the robe and towel you were hoping to use to dry off). Since the floor was obviously soaked on a regular basis - it had black spots of mold on it. YUK!!!! This hotel is in a good location but it is NOT a 5 star hotel (perhaps it is a 4 star) Book this hotel for the location or for the large suite rooms; however, I wouldn't book a pre-paid non-cancelable room here again and warn others of my misfortune. I had no bargaining power whatsoever......and was at their mercy. I'm not much of a complainer and travel a lot....this bathroom SUCKED!!!!!

Dear Mrs. J., Thank you for choosing Mamaison Suite Hotel for your recent stay at Pachtuv Palace. Thank you very much for your feedback because all comments (not only the positive ones) from our guests are helpful and valuable for us. I am very sorry to learn that some aspects of your stay did not meet the usual standards of Pachtuv Palace and the quality of our hotel. After reading your review I looked into the matter really closely and found out, your reservation through the Expedia was made for the Executive Suite without the view. I am not sure if there was any miscommunication between you and your travel agency regarding the view but I double checked the reservation details on the reservation form and it states “without the view”. Since our hotel was fully booked and the views were taken we unfortunately couldn’t provide you with such a room. The cancellation policy on your Expedia reservation was 24 hour cancellation and the prepayment you mentioned was made to the travel agency, not directly to the hotel. Therefore if you felt like you wanted to cancel, you had the option after contacting your travel agency. The hotel was not holding your money in any way. I will be happy to send you the copy of a reservation form with the cancellation policy. Since you travelled with your husband and your father also, we managed to provide you with the two bedroom suite for more comfort, instead of putting an extra bed in the executive suite. I am really sorry this room didn’t meet your expectations and you were unhappy. I wish you mentioned your issues with the bathroom during your stay so we could find a solution while you were in house. We do not provide a stand up shower in all the rooms and I regret the setup in this room was a burden for you. We do the deep cleaning in all the rooms after every departure and therefore I am shocked that you experienced mold issues in your room. I will definitely double check it and take all the necessary measurements to prevent similar issues in the future. It is definitely not a standard which should any five star hotel hold and therefore I apologize. Thank you for the compliments regarding our location, Amade restaurant and our hotel drivers service. I am pleased to hear these areas met your expectations and I will forward your compliments among the team. I will be more than happy to assist you further in this matter. Thank you, Mamaison Pachtuv PalacePosted May 30, 2013
Pros: the room, view and location
Location: best location, right on Charles bridge so right in the middle of Prague.
Returned home yesterday from our 3 night stay and we are still upset on leaving. The hotel was excellent in every way, the staff from the airport driver, reception team to the maintenance guys we met were all very nice and professional in their job. We stayed here for our 10th wedding anniversary and they made our room very nice with rose petals around the bathroom and over the huge 4 poster bed. I ordered the bottle of bubbly to be in our room upon our arrival, it was a nice treat for my wife but was not cheap, as i saw it in local shops at least £20 cheaper. We had room 307 which was excellent, we did have a view of the river, Charles bridge and the castle. The staff were very helpful in helping us to find our way around. In the evening whilst out someone would come into our room and leave chocolates and tomorrows weather forecast.
