“Noisy Hotel”
The staff was very nice but the "all-night" bowling game on the floors above us were terrible. Also, you had to park across the street from the hotel! We will not be staying there again.
“historical hotel”
The Hassayampa Inn is an excellent hotel...as long as you know beforehand it is a historic hotel that has preserved much of the original from 1920s. Etched glass and many more period pieces abound. We stayed in the king suite and it was very comfortable--but what was surely a huge hotel room in the 1920s is small by today's standards. But history trumps modern here so take the time to read up on its origins. Very nice hotel, attentive staff and the breakfast (which has a nice complimentary selection) was perfect. And an easy two block walk to the courthouse and Whiskey Row and restaurants.
“"Old West Charm"”
Front desk staff were a little off their game. When I tried to check-in at 2p.m. on Tuesday afternoon...I was told check-in was after 4p.m. I found out later that only 35 of the 64 rooms were full and yet I was told that I must check-out tow days later - at 11a.m. If it were my property...I would do everything possible to accomadate. Other than this...my stay was quiet, clean and restful. A charming property in the heart of town. Will be back with my wife in the Spring.
“PRESCOTT ARIZONA BEST HISTORIC HOTEL”
We've been to other hotels in Prescott, AZ, but none so convenient to the downtown area as the Hassayampa Inn. It is truly one of the great historic hotels in the state of Arizona. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed with antique furniture to reflect the period of the hotel. Breakfast was bountiful and included in the price of the room. Our first night there we were able to see a wedding party gather for an intimate outdoor ceremony just outside the hotel in a beautiful small courtyard with gazebo. We happened to meet the violinist they hired for the ceremony and he graced us with a tune in the lobby before the wedding. A truly charming moment for us! The lobby is intimate but beautifully decorated to reflect the period of the hotel. Lovely paintings, an impressive painted ceiling, two pianos, and nice comfortable furniture. There is a ghost story that is shared by front desk employees upon request. There is also a printed pamphlet at the hotel lobby with a detailed history of the hotel. This includes a page describing the ghost who occupies and occasionally visits guests in Rm. 426! Our breakfasts in the Peacock restaurant were wonderful! Both mornings we chose eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. There was more to eat than we could finish. Coffee was excellent and the award-winning grape salsa was amazing! If you want to experience an amazing, historic hotel in Prescott, book the Hassayampa Inn! We'll go back soon!
“Small”
The room was very small. If you are planning to stay here expect that the room and bathroom will be extremely small. I noticed that they offered room service but our room had no table or even a chair to sit on...where are you supposed to eat? The doorways are also narrow, typical early 1900's I guess. Anyway the only real "negative" is the elevator situation. It can only be run by the hotel staff and they didn't seem real happy about doing it. In their defense, they were trying to check people in and run to the elevator...maybe they need to staff it all the time or put in one that guests can run. No sign of the ghost but my TV did shut off by itself!
“say "yes" to Hassayampa!”
beautiful, grand old hotel.....completely charming with it's history and decor. very convenient to Whiskey Row, which was our destination for the weekend. many little shops and restaurants in the area, too. the bed was absolute heaven!!
“Best Inn or hotel I have stayed in Prescott”
Great experiance from the time you walk in. Excelant staff from the front desk to the elevator operater. Old fashion elevator with a roll-a-round gage. Breackfast was great, got street side table facing Gurley. Dinner was superve, the Rib Eye will melt in your mouth. Bar service was excellent. Great to sit on the patio in the afternoon, sipping a great Bloodymary and just watching people go by.
“Very nice nostalgic hotel”
The hotel is very old and therefore the rooms are a bit small, which is typical for hotel built in its day, but over all very comfortable and the service was great.
“Loved it”
Great antique building close to everything, great staff
“Not impressed”
When we arrived to check in to the hotel we were informed that the room with 2 beds we had requested was not available and they only had a room with a king bed. Given that the reservation was for 4 people, and the 2 children were 12 and 14 years old, this was not acceptable. The hotel made no offer to find us accommodations at another hotel or to provide us with 2 rooms at no additional charge. They insisted the reservation did not state 2 beds even though it listed there were 4 people. The room with the single king size bed was very small, located adjacent to the lobby and there was considerable noise from the lobby in the evening. They agreed to accommodate us for the second night with a room containing 2 beds, but when we called mid-day to confirm they had moved our luggage to a new room, the attendants at the desk were unclear about whether or not that had been done or even where our luggage might be. Overall, the staff was not helpful and seemed unable to think on their feet.
