La Quinta Prescott

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Cons: Blow dryer in room. Additional lightening.
Room did not have a blow dryer and the lighting was dim. Other than that, a great place to stay and pets are welcome!

Close to family

Posted Mar 29, 2014
Pros: The rooms were big and the bathroom had a great walk in shower!
Cons: For Breakfast they had no regular yogurt, no cold cereal, no fresh fruit!
Location: The location was quiet and near many stores. The town has many places to hike and walk around lakes, and on trails.
We were in Prescott to visit family that didn't have room for the four of us. The hotel was only 5 miles away so was handy.

Traveling with pets

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: We liked that it was pet friendly. There was coffee and cookies all day in the check in area. There was an indoor pool and spa.
Cons: The work out area did not have a way to change the temperature and it was very warm in there when working out. The treadmill was broken.
Location: The hotel was in Prescott and very convenient to Whiskey Row, a zoo, and many shops and places to eat.
This was our first experience traveling with a pet and it was a good one. The hotel made you and your pet feel welcome. There were several areas for walking with a pet and trash cans for doggy pick ups. You could take the dog anywhere except for the pool and eating areas.

Every Expense Was Spared

Posted Mar 13, 2014
Nice people, not a bad facility, but sooo skimpy on the amenities. Breakfast food was stale, no kleenex in the room, one of our chairs was broken (and the nice woman at the desk replaced it for us--I have a feeling that the "maintenence" department was a myth)...and so on. Clearly, business isn't great and they're trying to cut corners, and that will make business worse...

I hoped for better.

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable. It seems they are trying to improve the facilities.
Cons: Inspect the room for cleaning deficiencies. Work on the outside doors.
Location: It is up on a hill with a nice view in some areas. Prescott has lots of things to see.
We got off to a bad start when we couldn't find it, due to name change since we booked and we were not notified. The outside patio doors did not close securely and the blinds did not function well due to being painted over. I later noticed the bathroom floor was not clean and the carpet needed to be cleaned as well. I didn't feel comfortable going barefoot in the room. The coffeemaker had no carafe or coffee packets. We were only making a short stay so I let it go. I sense that the transition has left some disarray.

Very bad experience

Posted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: absolutely nothing
Serious electrical issues in the room. Bathroom lights shorted out frequently. Refrigerator area was extremely hot. Electrical plugs in every area of the room were not functioning or periodically working. This was reported to the staff several times and nothing was done. Security doors leading into the hotel were not working at all. Staff did not deal with any of the issues. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Heater so loud we couldn't sleep!

Posted Feb 9, 2014
We were planning on staying 2 nights however the heater in our room was so loud and woke us so often throughout the night that we decided to instead stay with friends on pullout cots and forfeit the money for the second night.

Great potential - new name! (La Quinta)

Posted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: The room was truly a nice room and the bed was very comfortable. The walk-in shower was also a plus.
Cons: Please see above...
Location: It's off the highway, but the windows did a decent job of blocking traffic noise. It's in a lovely wooded area near Prescott, Arizona; lots to do!
Overall, not so positive. I drove right past this hotel, because the name had been changed (Expedia, take note!). The room was really nice and I had high hopes for a good night's sleep, however, I didn't realize until late in the night that ALL the pillows were feather pillows and the blanket on the bed had to weigh 50 pounds! If you're allergic to feather, this is a disaster! I ended up rolling my fuzzy coat up to make a pillow and finally went to sleep. There should be at least one alternative pillow in the room, and also another option for a lighter blanket. It's very difficult to sleep under such a blanket. The next morning, I made coffee with the in-room machine, but there were no coffee accessories: no creamer, sugar, stirring things, etc. I had to go out in the lobby to get parts. The little continental breakfast looked pretty good, but since I had to leave early, I did not try anything but a very dry, tiny Danish pastry. Finally, while it's nice to sleep in a cool room, I couldn't get the heater to allow me to raise the heat in the room above 67 degrees. Thank goodness there was a heat lamp in the bathroom so I could warm it up for a shower. This hotel could be really great if they worked on these few items. It wasn't a disaster, just a disappointment.

Change of Hotel Name Not on my Reservation

Posted Feb 4, 2014
Pros: Very upscale for the price, and loved their beds. Wanted to take it home with me, because I got the best night sleep ever.
Cons: Tell travel agencies that there is a name change. GPS couldn't even find it.
Location: This hotel was in Prescott, AZ, and the city itself was very clean and much to see, but we only had one evening there. Would like to go back.
The only glitch on this hotel was that it must have changed it's name, and not changed it on the Reservation so my husband and I couldn't find the place with our GPS in Prescott, because the Wyndham Garden Hotel became La Quinta. We drove around for more than 1/2 hour looking for the hotel, until, luckily, I found the reservation with the address on it. Other than that, the Hotel was wonderful.

Hotel Switch Going Well

Posted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: Loved the individual balconies (upper floor) and would love to enjoy them more in a bit warmer weather.
Cons: Upgrades in the computer center would be great.
Location: There is a great mall - not just that it's a mall but the views from the parking lot? We wish we could have pitched a tent in the corner!!
We got a call prior to our arrival to advise this property was now part of the La Quinta group. The badging on the exterior had been completed and the interior workings are beginning. I am sure that once all the details have been finished this will be a stellar property. Also visiting mid-week put us in line to see more of the 'change over' items going fairly smoothly. The business center was going to be upgraded - unfortunately after we left - and this made using the computer a bit of a slow go. However the staff was incredibly helpful and we worked through any issues we had.
