Alarming
Posted Jan 28, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Having to pay for parking
We have stayed here often. Twice we have been woken by alarms which is alarming. Once we were woken three times and while we are happy that the alarms work, it appears that the cause relates to people smoking in their rooms. We think Hotel management need to advise guests that smoking or use of toasters etc will set off alarms and this needs to be done in languages other than english when guests book in. Simple hand the guest a notice in several languages as well as a verbal warning. It is hard to return to sleep after one has gone through the alarm process.

the room was great, reception service was poor

room was great with beatiful room. we couldnt find the switch on the wall for the heater/airconditioner as we were cold and wanted to warm it up a little....we called room service and he was unable to tell us where it was and said he would send someone up. No one came up and after another call he assured we would have somoene up soon....never happened. So we spent a cold night and we left the next day without staying the second night we booked as we didnt want to have another cold night.

Nice rooms, nice staff, but long travel times.

Pros: Very comfortable for the price.
Cons: A fair distance from the city, and a long walking distance to any worthwhile shops on High Street.
Location: I found the distance from the CBD a bit long (about 30 mins by tram), but not impossible.
Having been my first time travelling alone, I was at first a bit confused as to why the toilet was inside the shower. All the furniture was efficiently positioned to reduce space, without reducing much comfort. The rooms were nice and tidy, and the staff were helpful. I unfortunately came down with a stomach virus before I arrived, and almost passed out in my room, and had to call the paramedics. The lady at reception was very kind after I had recovered, asking if I was alright. More a testament to the staff service than to ambo response times on Anzac Day, which exceeded one hour... Overall, comfortable stay. I would prefer to stay closer to the city, but if you're not too fussy about distance, or you're a bit hard up on cash (I paid about $55/day), this is a good place to stay.

Noisy guests. A problem exist in all budget hotel. Noisy guests. These guest must be dealt with immediately not the next day. I was kept awake for two nights. Not a good response from the hotel. I do not recommend this hotel. staying here for a cheap room saves you nothing.

excellent value for money, overall.

Pros: the rooms and ambience
Cons: parking
overall excellent for what you paid. The only thing is parking that is complicated with these cards in and out procedures as a lot of people are stuck and need to be helped. It used to be that parking belongs to a motel.More and more you will find that parking in the big cities is not included.Otherwise it is excellent value for money.

Hotel Experience.
Posted Jan 13, 2013
Pros: The room service.
Cons: The shower which leaked out a bit of water.
Location: I'm not a local but we thought the location was fairly easy to get to and not that busy which was good.
We thought the hotel experience was really good without being spectacular. It was comfortable, relaxing and worthwhile. The flatscreen was really good cause it had a few foxtel channels which gave more variety TV viewing. The room service was quick and efficient and the food was great. Overall we give our stay at the Sleep and Go an 8 out of ten.

not a very pleasant place
Posted Jan 13, 2013
very different to what one can see on the web. if you are taller than 1.65m, absolutely forget about single rooms. beds are positioned so that you cannot fit and bathroom/toilet area is not bigger than 0.6m2 - together. no real sink to wash and one has to keep head carefully down, otherwise IT MAY HURT :-(. at first, some staff was not welcoming but later with assistance of the manager became very helpful and made somewhat up for what otherwise would have been pretty poor experience.

Pros: price, freindly staff, easy car parking
Location: the tram ride to cbd was good for me
The small compact room was clean and perfect for my short stay, the price was good enough and the staff were helpfull. I will return.
