Comfy Beds, Nice Staff, Filthy Carpet

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: The staff and the bed
Cons: The cleanliness of the carpet and provide a tub-mat
Location: Location was quiet, not much doing nearby
First the good - Check-in was very good. The girl at the front desk was friendly and explained it was taking so long because the booking was done through Expedia, and they had to sort out who was paying. We asked for a non-smoking room on the top floor away from the elevator, and that is what we got. The room itself was nice enough, quite large, big window; the bathroom looked and smelled clean. And, the beds were very comfy. Now for the not-so-good. Firstly, as soon as I took off my shoes, I knew I wouldn't be walking around barefoot on that carpet. It didn't just look old and worn, I could feel stuff under my socks that shouldn't have been there. Back on went the shoes. Later on, I spilled some club soda, (which has no colour), on the carpet by the bed. I went and got a towel to soak it up, and what a shock I got when I picked up the towel - a white towel had turned completely, disgustingly dark brown! The carpet wasn't just surface dirty, it was down and dirty filthy. Needless to say, I kept my shoes beside the bed in case I had to get up in the night. Next morning, I got in the tub to take a shower, and noticed that the tub was EXTREMELY slippery. You had to place your feet very carefully when you turned or you would have fallen down. My companion has a balance problem, so it was impossible to use the shower as there was NO tub-mat provided. Overall, it was just okay.

Hotel is beside the prison. Very dirty.

Hotel staff were having inappropriate conversations that could be heard in the room. Towels in the bathroom had been previously used. Drawers in room were full of garbage. Spill stains on the bathroom floor. Bed in couch had dirty linen.

Good Location...No Pillows

Posted Mar 23, 2015
We arrived to find only 2 pillows on our bed. We figured there had to be pillows in the drawers in the room so didn't think anything of it and went for dinner. When we came back we went to relax in bed and watch TV and couldn't find any other pillows. I called down to the front desk and was informed that she would do her best but that they were low on pillows. 40 minutes passed and still nothing. I called again and was told that she couldn't find any. A call would have been nice, pillows nicer

Rooms big. Hotel is old and dirty looking, but rooms were okay. Breakfast was terrible. Old bread and bagels in Tupperware containers.
