In current condition, not worth much.

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The bed itself was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. Close to downtown core for any needs there.
Cons: The fit and finish were very poor; paint was peeling on walls, floor tiling in bathroom needed some attention.
Location: Food, shopping, conference centres.
It was almost okay; if it were a fair bit cheaper the expectations would have been tempered a lot. But it isn't, so they aren't. Checking in was easy, the front desk lady was very nice and friendly. What wasn't so good was the condition of the room; lots of 'little things' that added up. Paint peeling from walls, musty smell, doorframe that was really sticky to open and shut, carpet that didn't feel right underfoot, lack of outdoor lighting until around 10:30 PM; well after dark. I will say the bathroom appeared to have been renovated though there were still spots on the tile - but the bed itself was extremely comfortable. And at the risk of being a nerd, the WiFi was laughably slow. We're talking dialup slow. Pool was closed for maintenance during the stay, which was unfortunate as well. In short, I'd expect this quality from a low-rate motel in some tiny roadstop town, not from a chain in a city downtown. If you're stuck for choice, the bed is comfy and it is central, but I think there are better options within the price range nearby.

Good hotel, close to restaurants

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Proximity to restaurants, cleanliness and helpful staff.
Location: Halfway point on Skeena train travelling from Jasper and Prince Rupert.
Pleasant, clean lodgings close to restaurants and fast food eateries. A fair walk from the railway station - take a taxi to prevent walking through seedier part of the town. Welcoming and efficient staff. Heavy luggage had to be carried up fairly steep stairs. Breakfast needs in reception area if needed. Be aware that there is also another motel with a similar name - we were directed to the wrong place by the train staff!

Sketchy area but next to police station

Posted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: It had a pool for the kids to blow of some steam.
Location: Very central, downtown location.
Wasn't very happy upon our arrival to learn that we had to pay a damage deposit. They also wouldn't accept cash. I had requested an upper floor but they had us booked in a ground floor room. They had an upper floor unit available and changed it for us. The room smelled old but it was clean enough. We could have used more blankets. The front desk clerk in the morning was not the most friendly fellow. I suppose it was adequate but I don't think I would stay there again.

Close to amenities

Posted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: They need to clean a lot better
Location: Was very central
The hotel was located right in downtown of Prince George and the area was not the best for a family. The hotel staff were all polite and helpful. The room was clean, but the bathroom was very dirty. There was hair all over the bathtub and sink. I went to walmart and purchased cleaning supplies.

Nice, inexpensive hotel.

Pros: Good rate, cleanliness, fridge in room.
Cons: Warmer temp in the indoor pool water.
Good location with parking. The indoor pool temp was too cold to go into pool. I wish the water had been warmer.

Reservation Changers Without Notification

Posted Aug 28, 2011
Reserved 12 days in advance and they bumped me to a lower grade room with no contact in telling me so. Excuse was they originally booked me into a smoking room. I think we(non-smokers)out number smokers and the option for a smoking room(does British Columbia offer smoking rooms?)even exist. The sad part about it is this was my Mothers(77)holiday,first in many years. Was a long day and really with the guys partying above us till 2am really doesn't cut it. I will not stay with Best Western again.

Never Again

Posted May 31, 2011
The rooms were not really clean. The bed was not made for the entire stay. The coffee pot was not cleaned each day, I had to clean it myself. There are only stairs no elevator. Stairs can be problematic for me.The room wasn't vacuumed the entire stay. Some of the bathroom packages were not replace once one was used as in the make up remover package. I was there with family and friens as we were attending the Graduation at the University of BC.
