There are also some great venues and parks that will have the whole family smiling, such as Navy Pier, Harpo Studios and Skydeck Ledge. Experience a unique wildlife experience at the John G. Shedd Aquarium.
If the weather is good head outside and make the most of the nearby parks and reserves. Put on your hiking shoes and discover the natural preserves for which this area is well known, like the Northerly Island Park. Explore the scenic coastline nearby such as the Ohio Street Beach.
Attractions like the Holy Name Cathedral, Buckingham Fountain and Pritzker Pavilion are well worth visiting during your time in Printer's Row. Start your tour of nearby historic attractions at Cloud Gate and the Chicago Water Tower.
Spend a few hours at the Water Tower Place, the Maxwell Street Market and the Chicago Place Mall to scratch that shopping itch.
If you're crazy about sports, don’t miss the opportunity to see local favorites, the UIC Flames, doing battle in nearby UIC Pavilion. On game days follow the sea of indigo blue and flame red, to the stadium, then after the final siren sounds, join fellow sports lovers in the nearby pubs for a post-game drink.
