Solid alternative near downtown Providence

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: Reasonable cost, breakfast, cosy gas fireplace, fitness center access, free parking.
Cons: Our room was very clean, but when checking to see if we had gathered all of our belongings noticed no one had dusted under the bed in a while!
Location: Short walk, cutting through a back way, to the Convention Center, Mall and other downtown places. Five minute walk to The Foundry.
Booked this last minute when we realized we needed to be in Providence a day earlier than originally planned and other hotels we typically stay at were booked or had very inflated rates. Rate was reasonable, and included breakfast, free parking and free passes to a fitness center less than a five minute walk away. Our room was on the ground floor, and a bit noisy during check-in because it was directly across from the office, but very quiet later. It was large, had a king bed, and a gas fireplace that was on when we arrived and provided excellent warmth. The typical B&B is not usually our style, and this one was a little more contemporary, though not our favorite decor, very comfortable. We were not thrilled that there wasn't a safe in our room or place to lock up computer equipment or the fact that our room was submerged and the three windows were street level without any security on them in a neighborhood that was pretty urban. However, we took our computers with us and had no issues. It would have been a problem if staying longer for business though. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was super friendly.

Cozy and inviting place to stay in Providence

Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Everything except the steep stairs.
Cons: I'd select a room on the ground or first floor, to avoid the stairs.
Location: Close to Providence, with view of the Capitol building.
I had a business meeting and this cozy hotel was the perfect retreat for the night. My room was top floor with a fireplace, cozy and warm. All the comforts and amenities of a very nice hotel in a charming inn. The only suggestion I would make is to keep in mind the top floors have steep stairs. Next time we'll stay on the ground or first floor. Breakfast offered many selections, most of them healthy. Dining room and common area were very inviting. This will be my 'go to' accommodation when staying in Providence, for sure.

Bed and Breakfast with Extremely Friendly Staff!!

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Pros: The staff was lovely, and the rooms were very cute and cozy.
Location: This hotel is right over the highway from downtown Providence. It's within walking distance, and very close to the huge mall!
I came to Providence with my mom to look for an apartment, and I stayed at the Christopher Dodge house. We seemed to have every problem, from snow, to my car breaking down, to having terrible luck finding an apartment. The staff at the B&B (especially the chef), were extremely helpful and and friendly. I was almost glad we got stuck there an extra day, because it was such a lovely place to stay.

Beautiful charming Inn.

I only spent one night, but enjoyed my stay very much. The room was large, very comfortable, and the gas fireplace (thermostat-controlled) created a wonderful cozy atmosphere on a very cold and snowy day. The breakfast room is also very nice, I loved the style with exposed brick walls, dark wood (but simple) furniture, and many lovely details in how everything is decorated, but still simple and stylish. Breakfast was wonderful, special were ginger pan cakes with canadian bacon. Excellent! Also with prompt and very friendly service, although I was early, and the only person in the breakfast room. Overall, a beautiful place with excellent and friendly service, very personable. If you are looking for something else than your standard boring chain hotel, and you are looking for that special something for a change, this is your place!

Beautiful charmer hidden in the city.

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Everything!!
Cons: Not applicable - it was great
Location: Centrally located for shopping and tourist activities.
The inn is beautiful and cozy and the staff is fantastic. The hotel is tucked away on a dead end street but only about a 10 minute walk from the Providence Place mall and the State Capital building.
