Cons: TV's that work
Nice property, good value, but TV in room was broken upon arrival. Eventually had to be replaced, they tried to fix it first.

Downtown Providence Hilton

Pros: The location
Cons: See above.
I was disappointed in my room because it was too small to fit a desk. The fact that queen size rooms do not contain desks was never mentioned on the website. Since I was on vacation, I did not complain. After I checked out, I was waiting for my shuttle to the airport in the lobby. I heard one of the two front desk clerks on the phone with a guest. Apparently, the guest was disappointed that his/her room did not have a desk and wanted to switch rooms. The clerk mentioned several times that there were no other rooms available. After she hung up the phone, she shrieked at the top of her lungs in disgust and mocked the guest. Everyone in the lobby looked at her. I was appalled at her attitude and unprofessionalism. She and the other clerk laughed. It is not our fault that only certain rooms have desks.

Not much time

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Nothing notedN
Location: No time to explore
Unfortunately because of traffic, construction, etc. we arrived too late to do much other than go to bed - then up and gone early next morning. Look forward to having more time next visit but the short time we were at the hotel, it was very accomodating.

Cons: Ice machines only on alternate floors is an irritant
Strikes me as good hotel for business travelers. Nice rooms but they are a bit on the small side

Nothing to Write Home About

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: I was able to stay overnight at the place where the event I was attending was being held. Bell hop and front desk staff were courteous.
Cons: Pricing, lighting, room conveniences.
Location: Only arrived in the evening, stayed for a one day conference, and returned home the following evening. No time to see the sights. Maps were provided.
For the price of the hotel and the area it was in, many aspects were disappointing. At the top of the list was the food. They didn't have a restaurant but rather a bar area and then a separate dining area with a few booths. Often you had to wait until the "greeter" came back to her station and you could not find any staff to seat you. It was also difficult to find staff to try to get your bill. So, if you're in a hurry ask for the check a.s.a.p. The prices for food were okay but the food was bland and they only had one very limited menu. There was no difference between the lunch and the dinner menus and there was no dessert to be found. The rooms were very small and nearly all of the electrical plugs were taken so one had to be a contortionist to plus a personal device into an outlet. A 6:00 a.m. wake up call was requested but wasn't received until 6:15 a.m. There was neither a desk nor a table in the room, at least not in those with only a single queen size bed. There were no drinking glasses in the bathrooms and the number of towels provided was minimal. Internet service was promised as a benefit and while it was provided in the lobby, it was not provided in the room (or perhaps I misunderstood since I don't travel much). Lights were out on the elevator buttons and lighting in the rooms was very dim.

Nice hotel - closest to civic center

Posted May 21, 2014
Pros: Staff was great. It also had a pool and fitness center which were nice to have.
Cons: Not a lot of parking and it costs $25/night; no casual breakfast - Starbucks is a short walk outside.
We stayed here for our daughter's graduation, which was held in the Providence/Dunkin Donuts Center. This hotel is adjacent to the "Dunk Center" and worked perfectly for us. the staff was very friendly and helpful, and check-in was quick and easy.

Parking was horrible. Not enough Valet parkers for such a small parking area. Parking overpriced. Felt more like a motel than a hotel.
