Noisy and dirty

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Our daughter is at Brown. We were bringing her back and the other better hotels were booked. Firstly, this hotel is equally expensive but so much less pleasant. It looks more like a cheap. motel in style and decor. there was some sort of hockey tourney for kids and the families were partying in the lobby and on the room floors all night. We barely slept. A rowdy drinking crowd who left half eaten food and drinks in the elevator. Also, the beds were uncomfortable and the bathroom tub was scratched and peeling. Reserve early at the better hotels!

Nice hotel in good location

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: Free shuttle, large bathroom, nice staff, large hotel, clean
Cons: For the same price, the standard king room compared to the 2 doubles room is a big difference. Also, loud heater kept turning on throughout the night.
Location: Providence Place Mall is great and has a ton to offer. Dave and Busters is a great place to hang out.
Had a great experience. Michaela at the front desk was extremely helpful. King size room was comfortable and bathroom was bigger than expected (our friends stayed in a similar room, but instead with 2 doubles and I will say their room was significantly smaller and the bathroom was half the size). Free shuttle to the Providence Mall was great (it was only 5 minutes down the road if that). Also, the hotel provided a complimentary bottle of champagne when they found out I was celebrating my birthday! Will stay there again in the future.

The staff was amazing and the location is very nice... Negative the room was a little dated and small, besides that I enjoy every minute.

Overpriced small room

Posted Nov 27, 2014
Tiny room with poor soundproofing. Listened to an enlargement all night. Shower handle fell off. Overall poor stay. Not recommended with so many other great hotels nearby. First and last stay here.

Downtown hotel

Posted Nov 1, 2014
It was an excellent location. The fridge was missing but was replaced with a phone call. The room was in the basement even though it was labeled the 'first floor' which gave it a feel that we were in a really cheap motel. They only provided one complimentary coffee and no complimentar water. However, The hotel staff was amazing

Pros: good service
Cons: Free airport shuttle any time of day. We needed to leave for the airport at 430am and there was no shuttle service then. A cab to the airport is 30.00
Location: It's a little bit farther from downtown than many other hotels, so needed to drive everywhere. But they had a shuttle available during daytime and eve
Stayed for three nights while visiting RISD. There were alot of conferences, weddings, parties going on at the hotel, so it was pretty busy with lots of kids and families around.

Great for Visiting Providence's WaterFire

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The staff were accommodating and the place was lively but not noisy. The hotel was elegant. The shuttle was an unexpected bonus.
Cons: The restaurant!
Location: This hotel is close to the heart of Providence, so one can walk, take the shuttle, ortake a quick drive to all Providence attractions. It was pefect f
Booking was easy and so was check-in/check-out. There was plentiful free parking. The rooms were large and clean, with a fridge, flat screen TV with cable, and an easy chair. There was a nice pool with hot tub, and a 24 hour fitness center. There were lots of amenities we didn't use, such as a salon. There was a cute little gift shop, a lovely lobby, and a friendly bar off the lobby. The days we were there, several high school age sports teams stayed there, but the place was not noisy. We had a room overlooking I-95, but again, I was not disturbed by noise. The hotel ran a shuttle to the mall, so instead of walking to see the WaterFire as we had planned, we had a ride. The location close to the heart of Providence justified the price, in my mind. Sunday evening,we came back to the hotel looking for dinner. We waited near the unmanned maître de station for about 10 minutes and were totally ignored. There was a busy server and a bartender and no one else. After perusing the expensive menu, we decided to order on-line. That was the only negative part of our visit. .
