“"As Always.......EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!”

We have just completed another stay at this Sheraton and once again were very pleased with our stay. Our daughter is a junior at Brown University in Providence and we were up for Family Weekend. Now since we started going up to the Providence area 2 years ago when she was a freshman, I have always preferred staying on outskirts of Providence as opposed to downtown because almost all of those hotels charge upwards of $25 a day for parking. The staff is always extremely friendly, and in particular on this trip, a young lady named Steph went above and beyond to make sure that my family was satisfied. If I have to give any negative, it would be the fact that free internet is not available in rooms. They do have several computers in the lobby and free wireless there as well so they definitely try to compensate. Bottom line, whenever we drive up to the Providence area I always check expedia to see if this hotel is available.

Dining

If you love seafood, instead of going to the chain restaurants on the main drag in front of the hotel try a place called Crow's Nest which is located about 10 minutes north of the hotel......Excellent and reasonably priced.

“Fine place to lay the head”

After a day at the polo match in Newport, RI we wanted a place to stay that was clean, reliable, and less expensive than the offerings in Newport. The Sheraton in Providence fit the bill. It was a bit of a drive from Newport (45 minutes), and Seekonk would have been closer. But the staff was courteous, friendly, and for being near an airport - quiet. The room was fresh, too.

“Gradvisit”

The room was not what we had reserved through Expedia and the desk clear avoided telling us. We got a double instead of a king. It was almost impossible to get a second wash cloth, the remote didn't work and the last night there was a water leak that forced us to move at midnight even though we had a 4:30 am departure from the hotel. The hotel airport bus driver was quite uncooperative when I asked him to pick me up at the rental car location. For a hotel chain with a well-known name the service was terrible.

“One night in-transit stay”

The hotel is nice and located very close to the car rental returns and T.F. Green Airport. We stayed over for one night, so we could fly out of the airport early the next day. The room is average for this type of hotel and was clean. The hotel's restaurant isn't the best deal around. Most have some type of 'happy hour' deals on appetizers and drinks, but not here. We ordered two simple appetizers (crab cakes and spinach dip), which took an hour to get. The portions were very small and average tasting, at best. While the location is convenient to make airport travel easier, I would strongly suggest if you stay here to go two blocks down the street to Bertucci's Restaurant. Their service was excellent, the food great and the prices outstanding. They also have a small full service bar with drink/appetizer specials, so you'll definitely save money. This is actually the second time we've stayed at the Sheraton, so we would stay again, based on the aforementioned attributes...but will definitely eat at Bertucci's Restaurant, again.

“No wireless in room intranet plus you have to pay for wired in the room service”

Thought paid internet went out in the 90s. Apparently Sheraton didn't get the memo. They only have wireless intranet in the lobby. It is wired in the room and And charge $10.00 per day. Moreover the shower was terrible it would go from very hot to freezing cold without touching anything, this was the worst. My checkin experience was unpleasant. Was supposed to have free wireless intranet and was told that it doesn't say wireless in the room. Had to show my reservation to prove that I was also supposed to include breakfast. Once you get done paying all the extras, could stay in much better hotel. Hope this review helps someone avoid the hassles and extra costs.
