Superb hotel in Puerto VarasPosted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Outstanding setting with a magnificent view towards Volcan Osorno. Excellent room. Very good restaurant. Free WiFi. Extremely helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing noted.
Location: Situated close to Lago Llianquihue with a wonderful view. Great location for driving around the lake and admiring snow-capped Volcan Osorno.
My wife and I spent one night at Hotel Cumbres as we travelled south along the Pan American Highway. The hotel was exceptional with a spectacular view over Lago Lianquihue towards Volcan Osorno. On check-in we received a complimentary room upgrade which was a very nice touch - truly excellent room. The helpful concierge directed us on a beautiful drive around the shore of the lake to Frutillar, with lovely views of Volcan Osorno. We took photos of the unique volcanic rock walls in the hotel lobby. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Certainly a hotel to remember and visit again.

Great LocationPosted Jan 17, 2014
Stayed three nights at this beautiful Hotel. All staff we encountered during our stay were friendly, welcoming and efficient. The room we were given was very spacious, clean, and well appointed with those little extras like robe and slippers. The views are just amazing from every part of the hotel which is also within easy walking distance to the centre of town etc. Our meal at the restaurant was exceptional and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend this Hotel.

The Best in Puerto VarasPosted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: The views,staff,spa,location
Cons: The wait staff during one of our dinners there
Our recent stay at the Cumbres was excellent. The staff took very good care of us. I recommend the spa for a massage, the restaurant for their breakfast buffet, their dining room for dinner and their common room for relaxation.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cunbres. The staff was very helpful. We loved the super king size bed. They made all the tour arrangements for us and the transport to the airport-all went onto the hotel bill which was great..

Cumbres Pategonicas- lovely viewPosted Mar 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
This is a lovely new hotel, with a great restaurant and friendly staff. The walk to downtown is only 5 minutes on a nice paved path overlooking the lake. We had a little issue with housekeeping, but I think that was just training new staff. Any issue was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the front desk. There was a great complimentary breakfast. The front desk organized tours for me. The whole hotel faces the lake, so on a clear day you can see the volcano from everywhere.

great views!Posted Feb 8, 2012
Pros: location, breakfast, supper menu, views of lake and mountains
Cons: The balcony window could only be opened by staff, so the room was stuffy. The A/C did not seem to work. The comforter was too hot.
This is a very conveniently located hotel. Most of the rooms seemed to have a full view of the lake and mountains. The dining room was very nice and the supper menu was excellent. After 3 weeks in Chile, we were delighted to see some innovative menu items! I recommend a NON-luxury room, which allows for the opening of windows. Our "luxury" room had A/C, but it didn't seem to work, so the room was stuffy. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The gift shop is excellent and sells quality items made by indigenous women. This is an expensive hotel by Chilean standards, but the quality makes it worth the extra expense.
