Peace and Quiet AboundPosted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Staff, cleanliness
Cons: Open fitness area
Location: Great golf course - small mall and market within walking distance
Just returned yesterday from a 10 day stay at Blue Jack Tar. To say it was all PEACE AND QUIET would be understated. When I checked in with a friend we were quests #10 & 11. It was so deserted of quests from day 1 to day 10, there were never more than 20 people, it was liken to having a private pool and beach to ourselves. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms, grounds, pool and beach area were very clean and maintained daily. Breakfast which is included, had a super menu and we just loved the servers. Dinner's menu also was good and the staff especially "Juan" made it enjoyable. Drawback---although advertised, the casino was closed years ago, along with the fitness area and the swim up bar was unattended most likely due to lack of quests. This is a resort on the comeback. New construction is going on and should help. For a place to go, to just read, relax and walk, no noise or crowding, this is the resort to book. Would definitely go again.

Clean hotel with friendly staffPosted Mar 5, 2015
The hotel staff was friendly! The rooms are clean and a nice design. The grounds are well kept. The breakfast was very good! They have a hot menu with French toast omlettees etc as well as fruit and cereal and fresh juice. The restaurant on site jack tar was good! The Angus burger was excellent. Service in there could improve just slow. They should bring the lady's that serve breakfast. Excellent frozen speciality drinks approx $5 US dollars everything was in pesos on bill with tax and a mandatory % tip. Beach was the best with this hotel but VERY WINDY everyday. Sun beds are clean comfortable and romantic. Great place to unwind it's very quite! Great for couples or families that don't like crowds. I would go back I'm sure IT will only improve since its re opened :)

Awesome!Posted Mar 1, 2015
I would definitely stay here again! Everything was clean and organized. The staff was very hard working and happy. They make sure you stay well-hydrated. We made lots of friends. The front desk clerks will help arrange transportation and activities. I cannot say enough good things! My husband and I loved our stay. We mostly ate at the Green Jack and the food there is wonderfully prepared. They have a nice beach and the beds in the pictures are kept clean.

Nice hotel not crowded.Posted Feb 17, 2015
Went to a wedding in Puerto plata for the weekend and where the wedding was, they were full. Ended up staying here because if price. Turned out to be an excellent choice. The grounds are not al big so you can walk around comfortably. They will come and get you in a gulf cart if you so choose. Ate at the restaurant and couldn't believe how inexpensive it was...nice churrasco, salad, veggies and glass of wine for about $30 us. Inside a hotel!!! Unheard of. Staff was great. Beds on the beach...not even the fancier ones where my friends were had them. Overall, very nice. Not a 5 star, but for the price, pretty nice.

Very pleasing if you're looking for a quite placePosted Jan 10, 2015
Pros: Staff, smell, cleanliness, food, beach, rooms, pool, swim up bar.
Cons: They should have more activities like aerobics & stuff like that.
Location: Very nice location with a great golf course , very close to Puerto Platw city.
I stayed here with my family for 10 days. It was honestly amazing. Very peaceful, smells great, super clean and the staff is so caring & nice. My favorite waitress was melania. Every morning no matter how much work she had she would greet us with a welcoming smile & a "Buen dia". The food was great. And very affordable. The beach is really beautiful & there was no annoying vendors! Really recommend this hotel if you're looking for a quiet vacation place.

This appears to be the resort the locals go to for vacation. After changing rooms 3 times, limited accommodations: The casino was closed (we were told it was not owned by the resort) The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. More than half of the property is not being used. We went to where the gym was supposed to be and it appeared to be the living quarters for the staff and possible tool shed. All in all, if you're looking for an inexpensive trip where you're just on the hotel grounds and not doing much of nothing else, this is the place. However, with all the other all inclusive resorts near by, there's no need to stay here. Again, the staff was very nice.
