great hotel, close to the beachPosted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: I love this hotel because is close to everything you might need from restaurants to supermarkets. I also love the decor, simplicity and environment.
Location: I went for a quiet time by the beach and that is what I got. I spent hours relaxing, reading, and watching people surfboarding and kite surfing.
This was the second time I stayed at this hotel and I loved it. It is quiet, simple and comfortable.

Good Hotel for Kite/WindsurfersPosted Jul 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Well situated, not too much street noise, good beach bar, no credit card supplements/add-ons. Could have used another chair in the room (std room). Also need to add multi-plug extension cords so that guests can charge multiple devices - phones, tablet, and laptops. It's not like chargers consume much electricity, so why not?

Clean Hotel near the Action in CabaretePosted May 23, 2013
Pros: Location, clean rooms, friendly staff.
Cons: wifi, pillows, blocking out the light from the outside
I think this hotel is one of the better choices in Cabarete. Hotel staff could not have been friendlier. In order to accommodate my friends' two children, the hotel gave them a complimentary upgrade to a suite. Their room and mine were spotless and looked and smelled fresh. Villa Taina's location is good -- right on the beach and near restaurants. However, it was lacking in certain important respects. My room (#14) was right next to the main sidewalk from the beach to reception, so I heard every voice and footstep as people walked by. One of the room's windows was right below a light along that sidewalk, so at night, the light shined right into the room. It was like having a lamp on at night while trying to sleep. (The window had no curtains to block the light.) Parking is limited to three spots in front of reception. We were able to get a spot consistently, but others may not be so lucky. Finally, wifi reception was hit/miss from the room -- and was a complete miss during the last day and night of the stay. Were I to return to Cabarete, I would consider staying here again, but would probably lean toward trying someplace else.

Absolute Gem!Posted May 13, 2013
Pros: The location can't be beat!
Cons: The rooms were clean, but the mattresses could be replaced-one of our beds had a quite a "divot". But overall, they were clean and functional.
Hotel Villa Taina is located right in the heart of the bustling beach front area of Cabarete. Many of the staff members are multilingual, which makes communication very easy. The rooms are pretty basic, but clean and fairly comfortable. The on site restaurant, Serenade, is very nice-we had several tasty meals there. They serve breakfast (buffet style, with an Omelette station), lunch and dinner. The bar area is lively, and you can generally find people from all over the world to chat with. There are couches and chairs dotted about, in sun and shade, so you can enjoy watching the Kite surfing in comfort. There are also beach loungers (free) for hotel guests. Located in a courtyard just off the restaurant/bar area, the small pool, complete with water feature, is the perfect spot to relax with a beverage. There are loungers placed strategically, for those in need of siesta.... Everything one might need is located within walking distance: groceries, liquor, souvenirs, taxis, tours, great restaurants, live music, active nightlife and more. Cabarete is vibrant little town, with a great atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit (this is our second!) and love the area. We will definitely return, and will certainly stay at Villa Taina again.

Nice place to bePosted Apr 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff was helpful and always had someone at the front desk that could speak English. The food was just okay, but the location is close to many great resturant choices. I would stay here again if I had the chance.

Great Location, Motel QualityPosted Mar 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
Perfect hotel if you're really only interested in being in a great beach location with reliable wi-fi. Rooms stink of mildew. So bad I almost changed hotels, but if you keep the door open and allow for air circulation it is manageable. Bathrooms are small and the showers have a cheap plastic curtain. Cheap motel quality. Mattresses are very firm. Perfect for a single traveler who doesn't need any frills. Many other more suitable places for a romantic get away or family vacation. Service is friendly. Wi-fi is excellent.

Great hotel on a beautiful beachPosted Mar 4, 2013
Cons: Breakfast was poor. Much preferred Dicks just outside the hotel, and much cheaper.
Location: Right on Cabarete Beach. Lots of kite surferes and wind surfers. Great restaurants within a few minutes walking distance.
Great hotel, reasonably priced. Right on Cabarete beach. We took a standard room which was in the building farthest from the beach. Lovely view of a Green tin fence! However the room was comfortable and quiet. The location is amazing, right on one of the best beaches in the world!
