i have stayed in both lifestyle tropical and lifestyle Palm cofresi and they have been the worst resorts I have experienced. The front desk services stinks and they always find ways to overcharge people.

Land Cruise!

Posted Feb 9, 2015
Pros: Once you arrive, you will never put your hand in your pocket to pay for anything again! Even exotic drinks! And, the people who work there are great
Cons: Because there's so much going on it's hard to find a quiet place. Head to the adult pool or the beach.
Location: Most stay on the property. We did take a couple of tours. The waterfall tour was really worth it. Sliding down waterfalls was lots of fun!
This place has a lot to offer. I came home 7 pounds heavier! I have a love/hate relationship with all-inclusive resorts!) There is so much food and drink, you would do the same. The place is very pretty and well-situated about 30 minutes from the airport. The entire facility is much larger than I expected with many pools and restaurants. Everyone eats at Casablanca from breakfast and lunch (all buffet). You can have dinner also, but you can also choose from about a dozen other restaurants, although you have make reservations and sometimes they aren't available. The food is all very good, some excellent. There's even snacks between meals. Also, they want $25 for 25 hours of internet service. Skip it and head for the vicinity of the VIP beach where you can get free Wi-Fi. Our room was lovely. We paid extra for an ocean view. Because the hotel rooms are all set back so far from the beach, all you get for the additional cost is a peak through the palms to the ocean off in the distance. It's probably not worth the extra cost. You can skip the timeshare hustle. They're persistent and hang out at the entrances to Casablanca. Just be firm. Also, we paid for the place without using any trade with RCI. Others there did trade, used lots of point & still had to pay for their meal plan. They paid the same as we did! Save your points! Every Sunday night, they throw a huge outdoor semi-formal party with the best food ever (whole roasted pigs, oysters, etc.) and great music, don't miss it!

Family vacation

Our first time away from the states with our two year old daughter was the best! The entire staff is amazing, super attentive ,and very friendly. This is a huge resort with enough privacy for even a couple on their honeymoon. My daughter enjoyed the different pools and loved the beach. I fell in love with the cabanas overlooking the beach! Totally overjoyed with our experience at this hotel resort!!!

Fun in the sun

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: There was lots to do in this massive resort. You could be as involved or as relaxed as you wanted to be.
Cons: The "African" show on Tuesday night was thoroughly disgusting. DO NOT take children to this poor excuse for entertainment.
Location: We found Pedro on the beach just past the resort who took us on a custom-designed tour of Puerto Plata. He gave us a wonderful tour.
We had an incredible two weeks at this resort. The workers made our holiday a wonderful experience. I will always remember those who sang and smiled while they worked long, hard days for very little pay. Thanks to everyone for a great experience! I really don't know what the complainers expect! The resort needs to let the blue band wearers what they are eligible to do. We found out many things by talking with others staying there.

hotel close to beach but you walk a 1/2 mile

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff is bilingual, It is fun exploring, I like the confesi part. Some hotel staff members will go out of there way to help you.
Cons: 1/2 hour orientation tour (no time share speech). Soda machine in the buffet, path to the beach from the tropical. Separate nightly entertainment.
Location: I don't know I just stayed at the resort
Please read very carefully! I arrive at 1 and check in at 3. The food seem good at first. They let me eat until my room was ready. I was led to my room and given a map that you needed a magnifying glass to read. The only orientation tour they give is a high stress sale pitch to buy a time share which I have one and I am not interested in. You need a 1/2 hr tour of the resort because it is that big. I asked about a gym and it took me 2 days to find, I only stay 4 days at the resort. They have the nightly entertainment next to the members party 5 star party which is very distracting. I felt like i was on the bottom rung of society. They have no soda machine in the all you can eat buffet. I had to leave the dinning hall go to the bar and get my coke and i almost beat them to my table when I finally delivered my coke from them. I also noticed a Dominican couple when they sat down they received there drinks with in a couple of minutes not the 15 to 20 minutes i had to wait for my drink. I like to take a walk on the beach in the morning, I had to walk 1/2 mile to get to the beach. They have the whole beach closed off until 8 a.m.. from the tropical, I used the confesi side to enter the beach. It took me two days to find that way. I had a lot more problems then I am stating. The color code for members and hotel guests is very confusing because it is in black and white. The hotel itself is very clean, low water pressure, warm water not hot. Bring Imodium you will need it.

Not so great hotel, beach nonexistent.

Posted Oct 13, 2014
You have to pay extra to become a VIP MEMBER in order to use the better parts of the resort, and they aren't much better. To a non vip , there is no beach. And what little there is is dirty. No sand to lay a towel down. But you can pay extra for an outdoor style bed to lay on 15 ft above where the beach would be. "Free" if your vip. Food- was so so. But don't wake up late , or no breakfast for you! Highlight - 10 pm bingo at the bar. Smh Don't drink the water. No free wifi.

our experience

Pros: THAT IT IS BEAUTIFUL
Cons: THE SERVICE AND THE COURTESY SO ONE CAN FEEL AT HOME
Location: WELL THE PLACE IS LOCATED VERY CLOSE TO THE CITY OF PUERTO PLATA WHICH IS AN ADVANTAGE . IT IS CLOSE TO THE PERIFERICO WHICH WE DID VISIT
WE SPEND 4 DAYS AT THE LIFESTYLE HOTEL IN PUERTO PLATA . MY GIRLFRIEND WAS SO DELIGHTED AND IMPRESS OF HOW BEAUTIFUL THE PLACE LOOKS . THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE RESORT IS SO IMPRESSIVE. BUT WE WERE DISAPPOINTED ON THE SERVICE THAT IS GIVEN BY THE POOL BAR . WHEN I ORDERED OUR DRINKS I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE POOL TO GO GET OUR DRINKS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BAR ! THE SERVICE THERE WAS NOT IN PAR . THEY NEED TO SHAKE UP !. WE MADE A RESERVATION TO DINE AT THE BELLINI RESTAURANT ONE NIGHT BUT WE WERE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE FOOD WHICH FROM ONE TO TEN WE GIVE IT A 4 ALSO WITH THE HOUSE WINE IT TASTED TERRIBLE ! SO WE DECIDED TO CONTINUE EATING AT THE BUFFET WHICH THE FOOD WAS MUCH BETTER. A BETTER SERVICE NEED TO BE UPGRADED . WE TRAVEL TO CANCUN MEXICO AND WE WERE RECEIVED WITH SUCH WARMTH WELCOME THAT WE FELT AT HOME !!!. THIS IS WHAT LIFESTYLE NEEDS TO IMPROVE .

Very Didsppointing

Pros: Grounds were pretty. Beach beds and jacuzzis on the beach were nice. Service on the beach was adequate.
Cons: Give guests a key to the safe. Charging extra for an in room safe at an all-inclusive resort is tacky. Stop misleading guests by saying "FREE WIFI".
Check in was a hassle as they refused to look my reservation up by my name. They made me go print out my Expedia email confirmation and provide it. Website says "FREE WIFI" - which is misleading at best. WIFI is only free on the VIP Beach, so all non-VIP guests have to pay. There was a safe in the room but we weren't provided a key for the safe. When we asked about it we were told we had to pay extra to use the in-room safe - extremely tacky nickle-and-dime charges for an all-inclusive resort. Curtains in the room were too thin so when the sun came up it woke us up. Bed was uncomfortable, as expected. At check-in the in-room refrigerator was stocked and there was a bottle of water for coffee (can't drink the tap water), but throughout the stay they were never restocked. I called the front desk to ask about it and was transferred to Guest Services where no one answered the phone. Restaurant staff was the worst we have ever experienced. We never received drinks without asking at least twice and on one occasion we finished our meal before the drinks arrived. Just awful. Entertainment was low dollar. For example, at Karaoke there was only one speaker, and it was busted so the sound was crackly and fuzzy. Come on, Lifestyles - that's just unacceptable. Resort was pretty; beach beds and jacuzzis were nice and service on the beach was adequate. Overall extremely disappointing.
