Boutique Hotel in Sosua

Posted Jan 21, 2014
Pros: Online
The first thing that any traveler should be aware of in the Domincan Republic as a whole is the fact that facilities seem to charge a 25% surcharge on all credit card payments. Although, I do not believe that this is the hotel's fault as this seems to be the norm. In the DR cash is king. The hotel itself was quite nice with nice facilities including a nice on-site restaurant and poolside bar, along with sap facilities that I did not take advantage of. The large courtyard grounds surrounding the pool were quite pleasant and included a Koi fish pond and a wall filled with various singing birds. One of the things that needs to be improved, however, is that the pool itself is in need of a thorough resurfacing. The rooms were nice and always clean and (along with the balcony) exuded a nice island feel. The few minor complaints that I had were that the large rooms seemed as though they could have stood a chair or two and the small flat screen TVs could be a little bigger. All-in-all the hotel was a nice respite after a day of being out and about in Sosua and the surrounding area. A few minutes walk from all major local attractions including two beaches and the main strip downtown the hotel is a quiet and peaceful hamlet on the edge of the hustle of the town's clubs and restaurants.

Nicest hotel in the vicinity

It was much better than Casa Valeria, to my surprise. And it's even closer to the nightspots. I will *definitely* be staying there again.

One of the better hotels in the area, however with that said, the price you pay for this hotel is way over the top for what it is. the rooms are very basic but clean, i found the bed to be uncomfortable and the pillows very thin, the TV was also a let down as it had mostly Spanish channels and American news channels, no movies as such, plus the TV was very small and high up the wall, on the plus side the air conditioning was freezing in this hot climate, the pool area is great, like a little tropical garden, which nobody seems you use so if you like the pool you will probably have it to yourself. some of the hotel staff were very friendly the odd one ignored you, the food in the restaurnt was very nice however quite expensive but nice surroundings.
