Poor staffPosted May 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
The staff was excellent and I felt bad for them because they seemed embarrassed because they had to tell that everything there was broken. The hotel is located in the middle of no where with no electricity at all. They have a generator that runs from 6pm to 12 midnight. When you arrive at the airport the driver tells you that there is no electricity, that the resort is a 3 hour drive away and that you have to pay 3,000 pesos to get there and back. He tells you in the manner that they are hoping you change your mind about going there so you sacrifice the money you spent on the room. Nothing works at the resort. The karaoke machine is broken, the badminton birdies are broken, the volley ball was flat leaving you with nothing to do. We wanted to have some drinks one night and they ran out of beer and all the alcohol there was old and we would have died if we drank it. The drive there is 2 and half hours on the roughest road known to man and you are riding in the back of an old truck with uncomfortable bench seats. The food was ok and the staff were very nice. That is the only good thing I can say about the place.

Palm Bay Resort beautiful but!Posted Jan 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel while rather hard to get to w as surrounded by beautiful forests and nestled in a lovely bay with a semi private beach. The facilities a lauded to on the net such as air conditioning, t.v. and Internet were not existent or hampered by power being available while they chose to run a generator from 6 - midnight. The staff were disgruntled probably because they had not been paid and food was not available at times due to a lack of supply. These problems may be fixed in the future however there seems to be a sense that the place was running down

it's a paradise I am coming back to!!Posted Sep 26, 2011 on Hotels.com
This resort is amazing. Despite being a 2 hours drive away from Puerto Princesa, it offers transportation to most tourist activities as well as from/to the airport. The transfer itself is an adventure through the jungle and authentic untouched local villages. I stayed in a little bamboo house which looked very authentic but was very comfy - with own bathroom and huge bed. It was like 10m away from the beach and at night I could hear the sea which I loved. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I was the only guest in this little paradise and I was looked after very well, had the whole beach all for myself and went on a tour across the jungle to the hidden waterfalls which was really cool too. To sum up, I would highly recommend this hotel and I can't wait to go back there again - it's the perfect escape from the city rush to explore the nature or just lay at the beach in privacy. It's so nice I'd probably go there on my honey moon one day when I get married :-)

Get away from RealityPosted Aug 6, 2011
If you live in a city and have had the easy life and just want to get away from reality for a time, this is the place for you. Set on a beautiful palm covered beach about 20 miles off the paved road you will find Palm Bay Resort. So leave your dress shoes and high heals at home and bring your boots and sandals.

Out in the middle of nowhere.Posted Jun 9, 2011
OK. So this hotel would be perfect for a romantic get away. Otherwise it is completely off the grid and too far from anything near Puerto Princessa to be a practical choice for a hotel. The hotel didn't even have a landline. No cell reception, completely isolated. The van that picked my daughter and I up from the airport did not have air conditioning as it was broken. It was a very LONG, hot 2 hour drive through the mountains. The drive was similar to off roading. (kinda fun actually) Because the hotel is so isolated our Underground River Tour dropped us from the tour last minute as they did not want to pick us up out in the sticks. If you are on your honeymoon and want to be ALL ALONE then this would be a nice spot. If you want to be a tourist, forget it.
