“Cozy and comfy by the beach”

Acacia provided a cozy place by the beach with great personal attention by the staff. Excellent all around.

Area recommendations

Old San Juan is the jewel in the city, but Condado provides many dining choices and beautiful stretches of beach.

“BEST VACATION!!”

“can't wait to go back”

It was my second trip to this hotel and I liked it even more thanks to Chad (the manager). I felt welcomed, safe and had just the right amount of attention given to my needs. Small and quiet, in a great location. I traveled alone (if you don't count the 10 books I took to read in 10-day trip. The rest, relaxation and solitude i need/expect on my spring break! You should try it sometime!

Area recommendations

The beach is footsteps away. The Super Max is blocks away (which was handy for me b/c I do a cleansing fast and depended on bottled water and fresh fruit.) I am a vegatarian and I saw but did not eat at one within blocks.

“Winter break”

I have been to San Juan many times and have stayed at the cookie cutter hotels. This Boutique hotel was wonderful. The staff was very accomodating. Try the jacuzzi if you go, the longest one I have ever seen. Please enjoy. Hope to see them all soon again.

I preder el Condado where this hotel was located and for 75 cents can be in Old San juan in 20 mins. Remember the buses are not as reliable as on the mainland.

“We'd go back”

After our initial fright at check-in, we found the hotel to be just what we were looking for: a simple place in a convenient location: good restaurants within a mile, a beach within a block, and bus service to Old San Juan. The room was small, but our deck was super-large, and we were able to open windows. A bit of maintenance was needed on windows and doors.

“Truly a Boutique hotel”

We were very impressed with our location....on a very quiet street close to the beautiful beach. We felt very comfortable and used our computers in the breakfast room and in the small lobby. The hotel was full of creative and wonderful art. We did find the breakfast pricey but the service was personal and everyone was very pleasant.

“Go Stay somewhere else....”

We stayed here for a night before our cruise...So, I tried to be positive. I had read multiple reviews beforehand, but there still seemed to be alot of positive things...I should have have actually "heard" the people who wrote negatively about this place. We get to the Acacia with all our luggage and there is a note that says "go to the Wind Chimes Inn to check in" which is a short walk, but it is still a pain in the butt when you have all your luggage and you are rolling it on brick roads. So, we get to the other hotel and the guy who checked us in was LESS than energetic or pleasurable and took a LONG time. Plus, there were other people waiting to get help at the front desk and it all took forever. We ran into a guy and asked how he liked the place and got a grunt, like "don't even ask." We get our key and go back to the Acacia to get in our room. We are on the top floor....no elevator...which was just a pain because we packed for 10 days and our bags were heavy. The room was nice, small but nice. I wanted to take a shower and our water didn't work for about an hour...still have no idea why. During my shower, I noticed some dirty gauze or something on the floor. That night we went for dinner and didn't exactly feel that this hotel was in a great area. There was nothing great around and had to walk quite a ways....when we found the more happening area, turns out we walked directly into the hotel would stay at after our cruise.Would not recommend.

Area recommendations

Candado was a great place, very happening at night. We finally stayed at the Coral Princess in Condado and it was above our expectations. The front desk was extremely helpful and pleasant. We absolutely loved Old San Juan. The history was extremely interesting, the shopping fairly priced and food fantastic. El Morro is a sight to see and to imagine the history that took place there was mind boggling. We also found the people to be helpful and friendly. Most people spoke english and if not, the person next to them did. We saw an art festival and there was live salsa music and tons of people were dancing. I really felt the vibe of the culture and finally understand the pride of the Puerto Rican people. I felt pride that they are part of the US. We can't wait to go back and spend time again after our cruise. I can't wait to explore more of Puerto Rico.

Getting around

We kept taking cabs and it seemed every time we had to get somewhere it was almost 20 dollars. I finally talked to the gals at the front desk of the Coral Princess and they reminded me to use the public transportation (bus) instead, as it is only 75 cents. Take advantage of public transport or you will overspend on the taxi fares.

Shopping

Old San Juan was fantastic to shop in. They have something for everyone. I was so impressed. Plus, things were fairly priced. In many instances, we found the prices in OSJ to be better than the markets on the islands.

“Perfect Location”

Perfect little place. Close to beach. Close to central Condado, but far enough (5 blocks) to be away from congestion.

“Great place!”

We loved this hotel! It is exactly as the pictures shown, quaint and cozy. Reception area is tastefully decorated, most of the rooms have balconies and the jacuzzi was fun. The beach was a stone's throw away. We would sun bathe and swim every morning. A perfect place to relax during vacationing in Puerto Rico, away from the usual tourist areas. There were always fresh towels left at the reception desk. The staff was friendly, always with a smile on their face. Though we seldom saw them, which was great cause it felt like having the whole hotel to ourselves! We did meet the owner and he was very courteous and friendly as well. We would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations

Condado Beach is recommended. The neighborhood is right beside the beach, away from the usual hustle and bustle of tourist areas. This area is more residential and there are local eating places that are close by.
